M. Night Shyamalan is the wrong choice for the director. They should get Ang Lee. He would do a beautiful job of telling the story. M. Night Shyamalan would ruin it like he messes up everything he’s done since Sixth Sense.

Just finished the series. Probably my favorite animated of all time. I can’t wait to see Zuko v Azula on the big screen. My grumpy side still wants it to be directed by someone else but I’ll at least wait til some buzz or a teaser comes out to pass judgement.

I agree with u sttukkun but putting our opinions on this site gives us the feeling of power but we know that everything we say is somthing that every body already knows( no offence)aparently they have some of the best fx people in teh buisness so I’m not to worried any more but still ancsious to see it wen it comes out sure I know that this isn’t his norm but he already has an amazing story line so I think he can probably do it justice. Of course having a stacked team doesn’t hurt you chances in sucseeding either.

O and 4 those whom are wondering y he’s chosen this type of movie well aperently shyamalan is also a fan of the animated series that is also another reason y I believe he can pull it off because he knows or at least should know wats expected of this movie an wat he has to compete with.

If I recall, avatar rated number 1 and breaking records of most ratings ever for kids and tween video. Im sure that many fans, if there are still fans, will watch the movie. And we know Shyamalan, adding a twist. So let him do his job and just enjoy the movie when it is released.

It’s funny how people’s reaction to Shyalaman directing the avatar movie. My husband told me that Avatar movie is being made, and asked “guess, who is directing the movie?” then he asked me”who do I not want to direct this movie?” I answered, “Shylaman.” And surely enough, that was the right answer. I was like, “Damn, hope he dont screw it.” hahaha Many of you are saying this. I really do not like his movies. It gives me a headache. The happenning is like something is chasing them and you never know what the hell is chasing them. I have no understanding of what the hell is going on in that movie. It creates more questions than there are answers. His movies absolutely do not make any sense to me. Shylaman if you are reading these blogs, “DO NOT SCREW UP THE MOVIE!!” I dont eve know why you are doing this film, its not even your style!!

now that the avatar series is over, and we all have seen the end, what will this movie show us? the past? the avatar series must have momentum, as all of us fans know, aangs past is “sqeezed” in most of the episodes, so has zuko’s and all the other characters, so what is the point of this movie? im not saying that it has to stop or anything like that, im just saying, you guys have to show whats new.. i dunno, im 12, i just feel like now that the series is ove4r, i have nothing to look forward to after school.. :D cmon mr shayamalan, give this movie momentum.. thanks!

I’ve watched almost every episode of this show and i’m 15. This show is the best anime-like show.It’s storyline keeps you wanting to watch the show it has romance,comedy, action and adventure. Now why the fuck would they get M. Night to direct this he does suspenseful movies not adventure movies get someone else to direct it like Ang Lee (Director Of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon) instead we get somone with the one hit wonder The Sixth Sense.He’s just gonna mess it up and then the Avatar series will be screwed.I just really love this anime and I just know he better not mess this up.
Will it be better then the DBZ movie?Hell Yes It’s.Even though it wont happen its more realistic to see water come out of the air then to see some dude shoot a blast out of his hand while looking constipated

I don’t think a live action movie will do this show justice. This is a great show and this movie will just make it seem a little cheesy. What are they going to do, ride horses instead of flying bison? It just won’t be the same.

avatar live action…im sold. the show is amazing, one of the best cartoons i have ever seen, and the storyline is completely breathtaking. i know people ages 6-26 who are just in love with the show. the character developement is remarkable.

for the live action, word has been spread that we will not be disappointed when the movie comes out. supposedly we will be astonished at the resemblance of the characters and the actors that are going to play them. also, the best cgi masters are being brought together to work on the movies effects. and it wont just be some kiddie movie either. the plan is for the movie to satisfy the tastes of children and adults alike.

But what’s up with changing the title? I’m not saying it’s terrible. I’m just saying that the show started off as Avatar:The Last Airbender and should stay that way as a movie.

They had to change the name because of trademark disputes with another movie, which James Cameron is the director.

reading all of these reviews has made me a tad nervous as well.but i do have faith that he’s going to do a fair job at making this movie-he does have a certain taste on how to end movies (with a slight twist) but when he made the happening it was kindof at a diffrent perspective-and he took a diffrent approach with the plot then all his other movies.I believe he could turn around and make an epic movie, sortof out of his line of style-but the man has the skills to make avatar into a really great film.

I’m actually quite nervous about him making a movie.
Don’t get me wrong, the guy has amazing views on things, but I saw the Happening, and I didn’t think it was all that great.

Idk, I guess just being as big of a fan as I am…I’m just a tad skeptical.

Overall, I think he can handle it and will pull it off quite nicely.

I’m not really into anime shows, but something about Avatar just made me wanna sit down and watch it. I love the show and can’t wait to see how M. Night does it. I usually don’t like his films, so I hope he can pull it off. I bet it won’t be THAT hard to find actors that sound similar to the characters. It was kind of done in the Scooby Doo films, and I thought thier voices were fine.
