Cloverfield DVD Exclusives

Cloverfield hits DVD store shelves next week (April 22nd), but before you buy you should know that four retail stores are offering different exclusives with the DVD purchase.

Cloverfield limited edition swank steel book collectible packaging

Suncoast & FYE will have a limited edition swank steel book collectible packaging (pictured above).

TJ Miller's Diary

Best Buy will offer a Bonus Disc entitled “TJ Miller’s Video Diary,” containing almost 30 minutes of exclusive behind-the-scenes footage with “Hud” (pictured above).

Kmart & Sears will offer a free Cloverfield Ringtone. Yeah, pretty lame… Who buys DVD’s at Sears anyways?

Rob's Goin' To Japan Party Mix

Target will include a free “Rob’s Goin’ To Japan Party Mix” music CD (pictured above). The track list for the music CD includes:

OK GO - “Here It Goes Again”
Goldfrapp - “Ooh La La”
Coconut Records - “West Coast”
Scissors for Lefty - “Got Your Moments”
The Vapors - “Turning Japanese”

I'll be buying the Futureshop version - Steelbook, just like Suncoast and FYE. I don't know what those stores are, but I find it weird that Futureshop will have the steelbook, since Best Buy owns Futureshop, and they're doing the bonus disc.

Perhaps the Best Buy edition is the steelbook + the bonus disc?

I definitely plan on buying the blue ray version. Does anybody know if the blue ray versions at any stores have any of these additions. IDK if there is an FYE near me, but I would drive into around for a steel tin blue ray. Thats bad ass looking.

Hey Peter, you forgot to mention that some dvds are going to be 2 discs and some are also going to have certain special features. I don't know all the details but check over at cloverfield clues.

I'll just buy the one at Wal Mart, nothing special to it, but who cares but there better be some kind of explanation to viral marketing like Slusho or Tagruato and that cult in the prequel manga

This is a direct quote from the folks at CloverfieldClues.com,

"On a side note, I've seen numerous comments from people here and other places who seem to be under the impression that Paramount will try to double-dip and release a '2-disc special collector's edition' version of Cloverfield later on. AFAIK, this is not true (Maybe these are the same people who think there are two monsters)."

I don't see a 2-disc being sold by anyone mentioned anywhere.

The soundtrack doesnt even have Seventeen Years-Ratatat that was featured in the film during the party. What a bunch of assholes. Ratatat is awesome!

I will deff buy it at suncoast or FYE cos im aiming for the steel case but i also aiming for that bonus disc from best buy!!! Don't worry i will get that steel case and get that bonus disc without have to buy it twice.
