Cool Stuff: Alamo’s 2001: A Space Odyssey and King Kong Movie Posters

In past editions of Cool Stuff, I’ve talked at length about why [1] The Alamo Drafthouse is the best movie theater in the world, and raved at [2] the poster art that Tyler Stout has created for past Alamo events. The Alamo Ritz is in the middle on their Spring Big Screen Sci-Fi Classics series, and have commissioned a set of posters for the screenings. This art-deco [3] King Kong poster was created by Burlesque Studios’ Wes Winship, best known as the poster artist for The Arcade Fire! This hand-pulled silkscreened print uses a beautiful split-fountain color fade.
This [4] 2001: A Space Odyssey poster was designed by Jay Ryan, who has designed [5] a lot of cool posters for a lot of cool bands over the last 13 years.
Both 26×40 poster prints are available for a limited time only on Mondotees.com for $30 each. King Kong is limited to only 50 and 2001 is limited to 90. I already bought mine, so you better act fast.
