There are sometimes when a movie looks bad, but there are other times when a movie looks horrible. The House Bunny is a case of option B. Is there some kind of rule in Anna Faris‘ contract which only allows her to take on horrible movies? Or maybe she’s just getting a lot of bad advice from her agent and friends (which was actually parodied in the tv show Entourage with Faris playing herself). And is it just me or is Anna Faris not as cute as she use to be? The movie also stars Colin Hanks, which makes me wonder what kind of advice his father Tom has given him over the years. You would think that nepotism would get him some decent movie roles eventually, right?
It’s Legally Blonde meets The Girls Next Door. In The House Bunny, Faris plays “Shelly, a Playboy bunny, who is tossed out of the mansion and has nowhere to go until she falls in with the sorority girls from Zeta Alpha Zeta. Shelley teaches this awkward sorority about the opposite sex – only to learn that what boys really like is what’s on the inside.”
Check out the trailer after the jump and tell me what you think in the comments below.
The House Bunny hits theaters on August 22nd 2008.

Wow, I never thought there’d be anything dumber than “The Girls Next Door;” another gem from Happy Madison.

ok the movie looks like shit, but are you kidding about farris?!?! she looks great!
April 10th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
Awesome! She shows the girls how to be their true selves by conforming and dressing up like whores!

The movie seems like a good rental. Anna Faris is very good in these cute roles.

I don’t know, I understand that’s it’s going to be a shitfest, but Anna Faris I think is adorable. When she did that voice thing to remember names I thought that was funny. She’s dorky, and more casual acting than I think Reese Witherspoon if you compare to “Legally Blond.”
I’m sure this will get her that “Mean Girls” audience and maybe this film will allow her to do other things.
I loved “Smiley Face”… that’s why I find it hard to be pissed about this movie. I too love lasagna.

Really wanted to see the trailer after that scatching review. Too bad it doesn’t work (atleast not for me). Sigh.

Anna Faris can sit on my face anytime she wants.

Emma Stone and Anna Faris… hell yeah, not only a lot of talent, but very attractive to boot.
April 10th, 2008 at 2:42 pm

April 10th, 2008 at 4:21 pm

I’m waiting for it to come out on cable. But, I’m only watching it for Anna and Kat Dennings.
April 10th, 2008 at 4:56 pm

April 10th, 2008 at 5:14 pm

Thumb dislikes this type of movie. Mostly because Thumb dislikes warm cockles.

Am I the only one who enjoyed Girl Next Door?
I’d never pay to see this at the movies, but might have a look when its on DVD (maybe it wont even get a cinema release!)

OMG it looks so cute! It’s gonna be fabulous, What’s better than sororities and Playboy?
April 11th, 2008 at 12:54 am
It’s not that Anna Faris is less cute, it’s that all her plastic surgery is now showing! We all know her lips are how she got the role, lol.
As for the film => Desperate Anna Faris? Useless Katharine McFeces? Megaflop in the making, I’ll be first in line!

This is the type of movie that gets better numbers on DVD, and runs forever on HBO and Starz. Much like Just Friends and the Hot Chick, which were horrible. But, they ran forever on HBO/Starz to the point that you couldn’t help but watch and end up quoting the movie. It’ll bomb at the box office, and fare better on the DVD and Tele.

Oh great, another “we just want to be popular, tell us how!” movie. This genre, and the culture behind it, needs to die.

I think Owen Benjamin is really funny! And this is his first movie appeazrance because his scene in “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” got cut from the movie but featured in the DVD as an out-take. Nice to see him in this one.

Oh would you get over yourselves? Anna Faris is paid to act in movies, regardless of the rolls and how dumb they sound. Sounds like a funny movie, dumb, but funny.
