The upcoming Cloverfield DVD release (out on April 22nd) includes two “alternative endings”, which have found their ways onto the internets. The first new ending features a clip of Rob chasing Beth around on a subway platform before 1-18-08. The second ending features a few brief mili-seconds of a man removing the camera from the rubble followed by a clip of Rob and Beth in Coney Island. Both endings are more like minor edits than full alternative conclusions. You can watch both endings after the jump.

very interesting. but I think these just serve to show us what a good decision they made with the ending they chose in the final film.

Yeah I’ve got to agree with giantman. These are pretty good endings, but the one they went with was the right one. Now we just need a sequel to start pre-production…

*contains spoilers for those of you who havnt seen it*
heres something for you lot (may have already been posted before). Just as the helicopter stacks it and the camera goes all funky you get quick edit of beth standing at a train station, then it jumps back to the inside of the helicopter and then a very brief black and white flash…………………..and heres the juicy bit……………………….that black and white flash is a shot from the original kink kong movie of the mighty kong swatting a plane out of the sky!

What was that? I wouldn’t call an approximate 10 seconds of pointless footage an alternate ending. That’s disappointing Cloverfield, shame on you.

it was a bad bad bad movie.
And it deservedly had horrible legs at boxoffice.

I think it was good they ended it like they did, make the audience want more..
Not too sure how good they can pull off a sequel..

You know what really grinds my gears, i’ll tell you what.
All the simple minded people in this world thought that the movie sucked when in reality it was excellant. I think the reason some people didnt like it is becaue it made them think and that hurts for them.
Some who have thought that the camera shaking and moving erratically was stupid but i say NAY. It was designed to give you a new perspective in the movie. to all theidiots who didnt like it because it made you think go read a book :P
