I am an european fan of magnum pi. I see all the episode of the show.

I think the movie should start in 2008, with his daughter 20 years later after the last episode, with the original cast of course, with every character even mack and luther gillis!!!

I hope this movie come soon but if they put clooney or moconaughney i certainly dont see, because this is not magnum!!!

I’m not watching a Magnum P.I movie without the original cast, simple as that. I used watch this all the time when I was Kid, got some great memories of the show and I don’t want them ruined. If clooney or Mcconaghue really were fans they would turn down the offer of playing magnum and be the first to suggest Selleck be recast.

20 years later is how it should finish what the show started dont pretend that the show never existed. what are they gonna do pretend its 1982?

Don’t do it UNIVERSAL PICTURES!!!!
Magnum PI is loved by Vietnam Veterans for the thoughtful and refreshing treatment protrayed in the show with regard to their very delicate issues.
Bring back the cast and everything will be ok!
Just bring back the cast Damn it!!!!!
To be stupid. No one I know will go see some shmalzty new version.

Unlike every other television show turned into a movie, I truly believe that the role of Thomas Magnum played by Selleck was the key to that show being the success it was.

The only way McConaughey is going to be stopped at this point in the game, is if the fans make an actual attempt to raise awareness to the studio (Universal) and production company (Imagine Ent.). Let them no, nobody wants to see a MAGNUM movie without Selleck and the rest of the original cast.

Tell producer Brian Grazer, NO!

I agree that there is no Thomas Magnum other than Tom Selleck. (Come to think of it, didn’t it turn out there really was no Thomas Magnum at all - wasn’t he just another character Robin Masters made up?)
But if they’re going to insist on making this movie, and knowing Hollywood . . . they will . . . it might as well be McConaughey. I mean who else would they cast that might actually have some B.O. draw?
Clooney might actually have the closest Magnum-like attitude, but would Mr. Batnipples ever be man enough to grow that stache?!?!

Now who would play T.C.? Ving Rhames? If they’re going for funny, how about Craig Robinson?

While I am in no way saying Starsky and Hutch was a good (or even enjoyable) film, at least that was a semi-parody. If this Magnum PI remake isn’t somewhat of a spoof then it will be absolute murder on the senses, kind of like Hunter’s writing.

Hairy chests aside, I think he’s perfect for the Hawaiian-shirt wearing, island-living Magnum.

That said, I never liked Magnum P.I. and haven’t enjoyed McConaughey since A Time to Kill. Epic fail.
