I saw this at sundance and thought it was a beautiful film, great acting, the cinematography was awesome...I have to wonder why some people are critics knowing as little as they do about entertainment and film in general. See this film, its wonderful.

Oh, Peter. I remember talking about The Go-Getter with you after Sundance - you say great, I say blah. Best thing about it is the soundtrack, music by M. Ward (who has an album out with Zooey Deschanel, btw), and that dream dance sequence 'homage' to Band of Outsiders.

Again, I'll say this: why does it never feel new when an indie coming of age flick has a quirky lead character who meets random other quirky characters on the road, has inexplicable/random/convenient life changing experiences, etc.? Bor-ring. Here's my question for every character in that movie: Why? Characters have no discernible motivations (case in point: why does Zooey D's character just kind of not care that her car was stolen?) and the whole thing is a pretty, ambling, ok pile of meh.

I think I saw The Go-Getter and King of California in quick succession that Sundance; I mind TGG less, but both are mediocre at best.

I saw this at Montreal IFF and liked it. I think it's a lot better than most of the recent teen coming of age dramedys that have come out recently, but not better than Juno. 7/10

I saw this at Sundance. It ain't that great. The dance scene is pretty much the only thing I remember from it. But go in with low expectations, and you might not hate it.
