Zack and Miri Make a Porno

The Weinstein Co has announced that Kevin Smith’s Zack and Miri Make a Porno will hit theaters on October 31st 2008. The film will go head to head with Guy Ritchie’s new gangster film RocknRolla starring Gerard Butler, Thandie Newton, Tom Wilkinson and Jeremy Piven.

Zack and Miri stars Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks as two platonic friends who decide to make a porno movie to solve their financial problems, and in the process, they discover they have feelings for each other.

As with all Smith movies, I can’t wait.

Z & M will get killed the next week, Bond 22 & Madagascar are coming out. I’m not big on Guy Ritchie, I think he’s a Tarantino Hack. Zack should rake in some dough that week, just based on Seth Rogen being in the film. I would have released it on Valentine’s day 2009 though.

I would really like this to be a hit…and 10/31 is a dangerous release date for a flick like this. I agree with Pete, valentine’s day isn’t bad, personally I think it would fare the best with an august or september release but that would put it in competition with Pineapple Express…

If Gerard Butler is in any movie - then that’s the movie I’m going to see. Go Gerry!

@ pete - you show your ignorance when you make statements like ‘he’s a tarantino hack’. tarantino is a hack HIMSELF. he ‘borrows’ from many directors - but, has somehow escaped the ‘hack’ or ‘ripoff’ moniker because he mostly steals from asian directors.

as for the latest kevin smith movie (with all the actors playing versions of kevin smith) —

    KA-BOOOOOM!!!!!!

    (that’s a bomb, people).
