Star Wars will never die as long as George Lucas still lives, Star Trek may have fallen downhill and the reason why Star Trek went downhill is because these idiots are coming up with series and movies that are based on the past instead of the future like the movies that they did with Kirk’s group and Picard’s group and the TV series like what the did with TNG, DS9, VOY, and even ENT had some good episodes but when they did season 4 of ENT it went downhill and with this new Star Trek movie coming out in 2009 I have feeling it is going to cash even further because no one wants to know about how the crew of the 1701 Enterprise met, people what to see Star Trek movies and Star Trek series that are based on the future like TNG, DS9, & VOY, they want to see space battles and some exploring, they want to see the a famous enemy return, like the Borg for example, they showed up in 3 of the Star Trek series, and I think that George Lucas should be given a chance to make a Star Wars TV series but I should think he should base it on a year after the Sith took over the Republic and base some of the series on the Star Wars: Last of the Jedi books and continue on from there.

Please let Star Wars die. If I never see another lightsabre duel I’ll die happy. It’s been going downhill for years. Stuck in its own repetitive, sterile universe. Like Star Trek. If you’re going to spend all that money, create something fresh and new. Hiring a decent scriptwriter would be a start. Oh wait, we’re talking about Hollywood where visionary is a four letter word. Never mind, I can always read a good book.

well there are tons of characters from the features that are not dead for the time period they are doing, like Boba Fett, Chewy, Vader, Jabba, R2 and 3CPO, Akbar and just plain tons more.

I think the point was that the main stars are dead so it will not be a show about Jedi’s or any of the specific main cast.

i think the hbo & showtime channels will play a major role in the success of this show. fox, cbs, nbc, abc whatever else there is - imo - are a death sentence, as far as program quality goes.

Cool beyond words-
100 hour long episodes-!! ACE.
But also depends on Lucas- he doesn’t have his finger on the pulse anymore and the last 3 films proved that-
Least he’s not directing.
Will be a huge success regardless- as die hards will buy anything!!! Jar Jar Binks anyone- maybe a show of his own is on the cards! lol
And don’t get me started on those bloody Ewok teddy bear things!!! arrrghhh!!
