Lost Boys 2: The Tribe hasn’t even been released yet, yet Corey Feldman is already talking about a possible third film.
“The stage is set,” Feldman said of the ending to The Tribe. “So it’s really up to you, the viewer, and you, the audience, to see that final chapter comes into fruition.” “Personally the way I would like to see it go, I would like to see Edgar finally become a vampire himself and have to battle his own inner demons. That’s where it should go in my mind. I think that part of the magic for the whole trilogy would be seeing those characters that you trust, that you love, turning to the dark side and figuring out if they could make their way back. For the guy who’s out there defending truth, justice, and the American way to be confronted with his own demons, and actually have to go down the path of the dark side - will he make it out? Or has he gone down so far that once he’s turned, there’s no hope, light? Who can save him? I mean, once Edgar Frog’s turned, anything’s possible.”
I think it’s a little too early to talk about a third film, especially based on the negative fan response to the released movie trailers for The Tribe. But maybe a third film would allow them to make another Lost Boys movie, the way it should have been done.

I think they made Feldman’s Lost Boys 3 already. It’s called Star Wars.

“I would like to see Edgar finally become a vampire himself and have to battle his own inner demons.”
Sounds self-serving to me. So basically, Feldman would like to see a third movie focusing entirely on his character.

I have no ill will towards Corey Feldman (or Haim) per Lost Boys: The Tribe. Feldman’s going to push the film as a legitimately worthy sequel to a horror comedy classic, even though it looks terrible, because he’s trying to get back on the marquee after a pretty long fight. I think the guy definitely knows what a good sequel to The Lost Boys should look and play like, but he doesn’t have the power to make it happen. Lost Boys 2 was going to happen regardless, even though the Coreys were instrumental in getting fans to voice up.
Still, if Lost Boys: The Tribe is as bad as it looks, he’s running the risk of having another Meatballs-type run in his second wind, and I don’t see how that’s any better. By spinning LB2 with such passion and saying it’s worthy over and over, he’s turning off a lot of fans, and talking about LB3 at this point just seems desperate. Why believe him again about Lost Boys?
If the director and writer of LB2, who are truly at fault here if the movie sucks, back off LB3 and a hot shot(s) straight out of college who actually gets the original can take over, I’d be all for it. Corey Feldman always walks the borderline of being a spoof of himself and he knows, but there’s a reason why people still want to see a movie with him, and it’s beyond hipster irony. He’s a smart actor, he just needs to surround himself with a smart project that plays to his strengths and makes him look like a champ.
Edgar Frog is a great character, Feldman’s great in this genre, there’s money to be made. I hope something worthwhile pans out, but don’t expect Lost Boys fans to back it no matter what.

I wonder if his vampire face looks like a Darth Vader mask….

Only reason Feldman is talking about a third film is because he has nothing else to do. HAHA
