I've been a fan of The Front since back before the album when the guy started releasing single songs for free on his website and have been waiting for this film. can't wait to see it.

But then I watched the trailer and decided otherwise.

I never thought a movie I've heard about since development would end up on a film news website I visit daily. MC Frontlot is one of the hardest working dudes in hip-hop and the innovator of nerdcore, and he's a hilarious and nice guy to boot.

I haven't seen the flick yet (but I hear they plan to bring it to PAX which is awesome) but I've met the filmmakers and did an interview with them and I've done a show or two with Front himself, and from the clips I've seen and some of the write ups, it seems like they really stayed true to who Front is and what nerdcore is without making it seem like a joke (I wish I could say the same for Wired magazine.)

As a fan of Penny-Arcade, I've been waiting a while for this one. I'm excited, but in Indianapolis, I'm not sure if I'll ever be able to see it anywhere but on DVD. Indy doesn't have the best Indi Film rep. despite the name.

Movies and Gaming culture are sadly divided. Mostly because of one man, Uwe Boll. Everyone hates him. Movies blame games for the problem, Games blame Uwe for the problems. Can't one or two video game movies be good?

Frontalot, Lars and Chris are all rad and stuff, but where is MC Paul Barman?

For my money, he's the king of the nerdcore. Not as video-gamey or D&D-lamey, but almost unbearably nerdy.

Selected favorite MCPB bits:

"Was I to rap as France is to morocco? Was I colon rap colon colon France colon Morocco?"

"Can I chime in? I'll still be rhymin' when I'm in your hymen."

Plus, what's nerdier than Enter Pan-Man, a song who's rhyme scheme is based around the fibonacci number sequence?
