I can't let this review go unchallenged. This is a tepid movie that can't decide whether to be a warm little film or a dark comedy and suffers by not making a decision. Had the tone been more like what I remember "The Election" (Reece Witherspoon's highschool movie) and "Rushmore" being like, it would have been more entertaining. The direction is uninspired and the script is leaden.

It's a sign of a weak movie when I find myself looking over the director's shoulder and second guessing the decisions that were made (as opposed to when I'm completely taken in by the world that has been created) and there were no less than a half dozen times when I wanted to yell, "Stop! Let's try this another way, shall we?"

The best thing about this movie is Jenna Fischer, who needs to be crowned as America's Girlfriend immediately.
