The new and final movie trailer for Pixar’s WALL-E has hit the interwebs. It begins much like the international trailer which leaked to the web a few weeks back, but continues on with a ton of new footage, including our first look at what has become of the human race, the inside of the starliner spaceship, and a lot more interaction between EVE and WALL-E (this is a love story after all). I got the chance to preview five sequences from the film at WonderCon, and trust me, this could very well be Pixar’s best movie yet. So watch the movie trailer and tell me what you think in the comments below.

Um. What’s the plot? All I see is a robot who starts to like another robot. Then he escapes the planet he is stuck on and then all this wacky stuff apparently happens. Love the carts though

I’ve come a long way since initially mocking the way he was basically just a rip off of Johnny 5….This is quite possibly the cutest thing i’ve ever seen. I have such high expectations for this movie. I’m assuming he’s going to be leading a robot revolution.
I love the part where all the robots look like they are running away and they get stopped, then one of the robots in the back pushes the trembling Wall-E forward.

hunter, I never said it would be a hit…. Actually, I’ve been thinking this project would be a very hard sell since the first announcement of the project. And Im actually working on a blog post which indicates that the film has less interest than all of the Pixar releases to date. But trust me, I’ve seen 20 to 30 minutes of the film and its pure genius. If audiences will buy tickets in mass numbers is left to be seen. I’m thinking probably not.

That was incredible, made me way more excited than any of the pervious trailers. I have high hopes for the film, and I’m unsure why there’s so little buzz right now…but I’m hoping that will change ramping up to the release.

Right, but it’s not just the box office prospects that my bother me. This trailer tests my patience. I just don’t find what I’ve been shown thus far to be very entertaining or enlightening, which is the mixture of “silent awe” Pixar seems to be aiming for. I trust your judgment on the sequences you’ve seen, but I am already dreading the “dumb Americans” outcry from film critics when Wall-E doesn’t crack $200 million or maybe even $100 million domestically. It didn’t have to be that way.
Just because Pixar is thinking outside of the box doesn’t mean it gets a pass for not cutting an appealing trailer featuring likable characters that kids and everyone else can connect with. I find EVE to be an incredibly cold character in this trailer. There were parts of Ratatouille that I found a little forced “brilliant” and smug that kept it from being a masterpiece imo, so I hope that Pixar doesn’t end up becoming the Crispin Porter & + Bogusky of animated films.
Not to say the company is close to that; I love Pixar and it’s one of the important creative forces in the history of film, but if it wants to sort of re-envision 2001: A Space Odyssey as a family film, the marketing dept should work overdrive to find a way to draw in that target demo while blowing the minds of 20somethings as well.
I look forward to seeing this trailer in a theater with a young audience and observing the reaction. I know if I was 10 or 12 and saw this trailer, I’d feel a little pandered to, as if by a teacher with too much coffee in his system. I dread the asinine “you’re stupid you don’t get it blah blah” debate we saw with No Country For Old Men finally reaching a kid’s film. And from the looks of the trailer, it will. There’s already a slight anti-human air/message to to the film, no? Judging by the Earth’s state as a trash depot, it’s the perfect light to spark this tired debate, especially when the flick doesn’t print money over the summer as I’m expecting more and more.
Hoping for the best though. I do hope it’s genius through and through and the premise is awesome.

Pixar is finally taking chances. This is the kind of trailer that you always wish they made after you see the film. You know, you walk out saying Gaaah all the good stuff was in the trailer. But this time, they’ve takin the steps to preserve that for what looks like a brilliant motion picture. I cannot wait to see this. It may not be everybody’s cup of tea, but that’s ok! You don’t have to see it! Isn’t that wonderful! Don’t go see it and spare us your whining! Because there will be plenty of people who go to see this, like me, and be blown away by a movie with a story that is mostly conveyed through body language and sound effects, instead of scripts. It will be a treat to witness.

Okay first of all, no flip flops, Only thongs, not the ones you were on your crotch, but the ones that used to be hip in the 90’s. And what the fuck, a cup with a little umbrella in it? Where the hell did that even come from.
Second of all, my rebuttal for this is, girls get HUGE feminine boners for cute robots. Guys love robots. Nerdy guys DIG chick robots. Parent’s don’t give a fuck what type of robot it is, as long as it shuts their kids up for an hour and a half. People love robots, period.
This movie will make it’s money.
Though I do agree with you on one thing, we do live in a society where it’s cool to be ADD or ADHD diagnosed. I’m sure a lot of people will first think, “What the fuck are these machines doing?” And I can already tag those ones as the pothead crew. (Yes, please, bash me all you want to those who smoke.)
But then we’ll also have your side of people that fall in love with the film, it’s an adventure film dude, not the newest David Lynch mind-fuck. I’m going into a theater to see a robot fall in love with some iMac-Asian hybrid looking bot, and get his grind on. I’m not going into a theater expecting to be discussing the outer layer of space and how the solar system works with my friends during a cup of coffee.
Ever see Finding Nemo? Remember that FLOP?

THIS MOVIE WILL HAVE LEGS!!! mark my words. I’m not sure if it will open big, but i’d put money on the thought that this will do very well for many many weeks. pixar+great reviews+word of mouth+repeat viewings=longevity at the box office for this movie. just watch, it’ll happen.
also hunter, of all the trailers, this is the warmest eve has ever been. it’s pretty much the first glimpse of her personality we’ve ever seen, she giggles more than once, and even calls out wall-e’s name for help.
also, in the age of shitty dialogue (majority of films) it’s cool to see a movie that looks like it will be relying on visual storytelling. wall-e kicking it old school cinema!

Dan’s right, most people weren’t expecting Finding Nemo to do as well as it did. I remember working at the theater that weekend, it was HELL. Lines wrapping around the lobby and out the door. EVERY show that weekend sold out.
I suspect Wall-E will have similar business. Disney knows how to market, they have their own channel that shows commercials 24/7. This will be all over ABC, ABC Family and the like. I expect people will be curious enough to go see it. I’m not saying it’ll break box office records, but I do think it will do better than Ratatouille. Wall-E has the potential to be the next ET.

Wall-E is my most anticipated movie of the year, narrowly beating Dark Knight and Indy, but the trailer disappointed me just a little bit. Watching it again, I can’t even put my finger on why. Anyways, I still think it will be a fantastic movie. I love the robot voices and the “You’re now free to move about the cabin” line

I agree that this movie could be a tough sell to today’s Ritalin infused kids. I feel like the movie is targeting older youth and adults as well as young children.
If we find a movie that is excellent (based on what you’ve seen Peter) then it is up to us, the responsible aficionados to help our friends and neighbors make informed decisions. It is on us to steer society away from Hanna Montana (no offense Miley), and toward quality, funny, heartfelt entertainment with a touch of class.

I am much more impressed by ths trailer than any of the ohers. This one actually gives you a sense that something will happen in the movie. The other one’s just kind of said “here’s a cute robot”. Also, did anyone else notice that the “live action element” wass him watching Mary Poppins?
I am greatly looking forward to this movie, and it is confusing to me that o many seem to not like this trailer. How is it different from any other trailer, it tells you kind of what’s going on, without giving away anything. A great trailer in my opinion.

I think it looks great. I personally don’t see anything in the trailers that would suggest that the film “panders” to anyone. It looks like an honest story - meaning Pixar knew what they loved about it and trust that the audience will love that as well. It’s why the people at Pixar get it right.
Enjoy it. It’s a great thing for audiences and film lovers.
The textures ARE amazing. Can’t wait for Wall*E

I don’t know what it is, but the trailer doesn’t excite me.
Wall-E is cute and the animation is marvelous, but
I still feel reserved. I can’t tell you exactly why I feel
this way, I simply don’t feel “wow.”
Then again I didn’t feel that way about Ratatouille
either, but when I saw the film I loved it.
Pixar instantly get my money and the only movie
I haven’t loved was Cars. Monsters Inc. is still
my favorite Pixar film and it will take a lot to knock
that off the top spot.

When I saw the first trailer before Ratatouille I nearly beat the shit out of my boyfriend because I was so freaking excited that Pixar was doing a robot movie. And now watching this trailer, I had to silently jump up and down in my desk chair because I am at work and shouldn’t be watching trailers. (Can’t wait to get home and watch this in HD)
Wall-E is going to be great, I am sure I will go see it a few times in the theater much to my boyfriends dismay!

I kinda like the fact that there’s barely any dialogue in this film. I do think it’s a lot of silent awe and just watching Pixar show all this emotion from some inanimate/animate objects. The trailer I think is horrible as the voiceover kills it. But I do love what I see.
Incredibles is still my favourite film ever, with Iron Giant coming in at 2nd. I’m holding judgement until I see the film, but it can’t flop anymore then Cloverfield did eh? =)
