ABC, I think Bryan Singer with the help of JJ.Abrams and Mark Millar will make Superman the way we saw him through Christopher Reeve in the early films. In Superman Man of Steel Superman should have the bright red, yellow and blue colors with the yellow S symbol on his cool red cape. Keep the new S shield style I like that model from Chris Reeve's from 1978 to 1987.

Hey, ABC, Check Superman out in MK VS DC and DC Online Universe.

Now that we know that Singer will be in charge of the sequel, there is nothing us fans could do about, no matter how much we complain. With that said I certainly hope they fix the film’s music or bring John Williams back to do the film’s score. The score kept starting or ending at all the wrong places and sounded like somebody just randomly played bits and pieces of the first Superman film’s soundtrack!

Also, what’s with the maroon and blue colored Superman suit? This color combination reminds me of the evil Superman in Superman 3! The new ‘S’ logo oh his chest was great, but not the colors. Superman needs to have the bright red and blue colors to make him look more iconic and still look ‘cool’ at the same time. I really hope Singer can figure this out!

I was disappointed by 'Superman Returns', but I'll give Singer another shot with the sequel, with hopes that it'll be more in line with the first couple Superman films, from which it seemed like there was a marked break in continuity (primarily in casting actors who all seemed younger than the previous ones.)

Erik. What you don't realize my friend is Superman Returns was an epic film, I would put Spiderman 3 in the same category but, Venom was disgraced at the end of the film, but anyway Spiderman 3 was an A+ with Symbiote Spiderman taking up most of the story in the film. Anyway, although, Superman Returns was a minor disappointment it was nothing like that travesty XMEN: The Last Stand What was Brett Ratner thinking when he turned the XMEN into a live action stunt show to show the film viewers. Superman Returns looked and felt like Richard Donner's first two films and if Bryan Singer returns or not, Superman: Man of Steel will be superior in epic format than the 2006 blockbuster. Erik, if you look at Superman Returns as an imaginative and creative comic book film you will be excited about it. If, you are looking at it like a fist fighting film then you will be disappointed. Sure, Superman should knocked Lex Luthor's lights out but, let's be serious Lex Luthor would get killed immediately if he was to fight Superman at full strength. Great, to see that he has a suit like Metallo except it is Green and Blue and it is powered up from the different Kryptonite mineral stones.

Erik, trust me man Superman starting in 2011 will be more based from the Superman Comic books JJ. Abrams and Mark Millar may take charge on Superman this time. JJ. Abrams by the way was rumored to direct the Superman film that Bryan Singer did in 2006, but I guess Warner Brothers didn't want him. They, may have made a mistake this time. I was impressed with JJ. Abrams producing monster film project Cloverfield this year it was intense. Next year in 2009, JJ. Abrams will be directing Star Trek XI the 21st film in the Star Trek series. It is a reboot from the last installments. Leonard Nimoy who you know played, Spock will be returning with Zachary Quinto playing him as a younger person. Other stars that will be in the film are Winona Ryder who will play Spock's mother and Eric Bana from Ang Lee's 2003 blockbuster film, Hulk will play a villain in the film.

There were rumors on youtube.com that William Fichtner who played, a bank employee in The Dark Knight this year would possibly be playing Brainiac in Superman: Man of Steel. There were trailers and videos of him on the site I hope they cast him he would make a great Brainiac in the film. Metallo, was also mentioned who may play I am not certain yet. But, in Smallville Season 8 the actor Sam Wilber I think that is his last name will be playing Doomsday in the series can't wait to see that Tom Welling will definitely be wearing the blue, red and yellow outfit finally. I saw a scene when the show came on with him dressed up as Clark Kent News Reporter and Journalist at The Daily Planet. reminds you of Christopher Reeve, Dean Cain and Brandon Routh doesn't it.

Erik, I just want you to appreciate films as they are don't be so negative minded and bad mouth films so much. negative attitudes and emotions destroy you from the inside if also affects your health. Jesus wants you to be more kindhearted, gentle and practice meekness and patience with others.

God Bless You, Erik

Keep staying true to Superman

I am a fan for life.

Oh check out Superman in Mortal Kombat VS DC Universe
and DC Univer Online Supes looks cool in both games.

Batman will appear in four games MK VS DC Universe, DC UNiverse Online, The Dark Knight and in next year's Batman Arkham Asylum cool man.!!!

You are all kidding yourselves. The reason why superman returns did not do good, was because they need to scrap what they have so far and start over. The new generation of superman fans are all stuck on shows like smallville because it actually tries to explain the story from the beginning. Sure cristopher reeves did a good job, but honestly what kid today wants to watch an obsolete action film superman I - IV just to get where they can understand what is going on. I know i dont ever say to myself, "Hey I think im going to watch a film from the 70s for the action and graphics," because the graphics suck, and our society has changed too much to relate to it.

Superman is my favorite fictional character and I follow every thing I can find that deals with him. I thought George Reeves was a good Superman. I thought Christopher Reeves was a good Superman. I thought Dean Cain was a good Superman and I think Tom Welling is a good Superman. But if you ask me I think Brandon Routh is Superman. Other portrayals of the man of steel satisfies my imagination. Routh's portrayal satisfies my heart too.

Wow some ppl just dont appreciate a good movie when they see one. Superman returns did everything (in my opinion) to justify superman. He returns from krypton and sees louis, his love, trys to win her back and finds out he has a son too. Even tho there wasnt alot of action, what was everyone exspecting? Doomsday to just show up? Superman Returns was the 5th installment of the superman series and now that its out of the way and everything is in place, this next superman should be one for the record books. If we can watch Spiderman turn goth and do a dance number then i think its ok for the MAN OF STEEL to fall in love, basically remove a whole island and throw it into space, (which by the way was made of kryptonite if i do recall) and almost die. Superman Returns was a success and i cant wait for the next one to rock!

In "Returns" I never saw superman. I only saw some guy in a cape constantly on the verge of death. Even in the first seen showing the man of steel. There was no action. Superman doesent fight he saves apparently (spiderman fights). We all wanted to see action and got nothing. "Returns" was a super flop and the directors should stop before thay truly turn the "man of steel" into "man of Styrofoam".

I thought Superman Returns was a superb film, it connected right into the story that everybody saw in the 70's, and gave it the chance to become popular again. The CGI was not that bad, I could handle it, and everybody who calls it a mushy love story has no idea about the comic books! Superman and Lois Lane had a fling going on in the movie, which was taken right out of the comic books, those who have read them will understand. The film very accurately depicted the comic book Superman, as well as his nemesis Lex Luthor, played by Kevin Spacey, who did a great job being a ruthless villain. The public didn't like the film because they never read the comics and have their own preconceptions of who Superman is supposed to be, rather than the die hard readers such as myself who were very satisfied with Singers accurate depiction of the Man of Steel...

Daniel, Superman Returns was that bad look at with imaginatiion and creativity. SR did receive 10 Golden Globe Nominations So it wasn't as dissappointing as you think it was the finest superhero film of 2006. Batman Begins was Oscar material as well in 2005, and The Dark Knight which is playing right now will make the Academy Awards and Aaron Eckhart and the late great Heath Ledger will possibly receive Oscars for their portrayals of Harvey Two-Face and Jack Napier/The Joker. Also, if you want to rag on Superman Returns so much look at Spiderman 3 whic came out a year later in 2007 it was a major dissappointment but still made a hole in the box office grossing list. TDK, made an even major hole bigger than SM3 at the box office. Superman Man of Steel will over majorally clobber the Spiderman films as well because he will be revamped in 2011. Batman 3 will be out that year I read it at Ign.com. Daniel are you ready for Watchmen next year and the Animated Wonder Woman movie?

Oh an what is up with Lois? Why is she going to marry someone else? They are THE comic couple. They had a TV show named after them. And who is this kid? Let us get back to the basics, and began to follow the comics, not what Hollywood thinks is necessary.
I have heard that the new movie was supposed to make Superman more able to be related to. But is that what Superman is supposed to do? Or is he supposed to be something to strive for?

I am a huge Superman fan, (as in I have a three foot action figure, a watch, a blanket, four shirts, umbrella, an actual cape, all the movies, about twenty comics [including "The Death of Superman"], a teddy bear, and anything else you can think of. But I have to tell you, it is really hard to defend Superman when the last movie totally sucked. Don't get me wrong, it was a good movie with a good story. But I need action. Superman is the original superhero and yet he can't even set a standard for superhero movies. I need Lex Luthor to not be the main villain, but rather maybe a wall flower in the movie, maybe he can be a plotter. I want a knock out drag out fight with an actually powerful enemy. I demand it as a life long fan.

Bret, I totally agree with you I was keeping Travis's mind clear of all negativity. He judges Bryan Singer's work on Superman Returns but, he knows nothing of what the director's do when they are orchestrating the film to it's fullest. There is news that Warner Brothers is going to scrap the story for Superman Returns and just revamp the next story for Superman Man of Steel. I think, they should make it like The Incredible Hulk Louis Letterrer's blockbuster this year and Chris Nolan's The Dark Knight film as well. Both films, Marvel and DC were fantastic including Jon Favreau's Ironman blockbuster. I can't wait to see the sequel's Superman Man of Steel will definitely be epic. Superman Returns was epic as well Bret, did you know that FX has an agreement contract with Warner Brothers and Columbia Pictures to show Superman Returns and Spiderman 3 next year it's going to be awesome man. I loved, The plane scene with Brandon Routh saving Lois Lane is gorgeous girlfriend and the others. Plus, I loved the scene when he was in space listening to everyone outside of the earth. Finally, I love the end scene with him saving Metropolis, fighting Lex Luthor on the Continent he made with the Kryptonite Crystal and one of the best scenes in the film the clouds scene. This, scene really feels like the comic book when he flies into the clouds to strengthen himself to rid the world of this continent that will almost completely tear The Northern American region off of the map. It, was rumored that Braniac was going to find this genious idea that Lex Luthor created and bring it back to Earth to rule on. But, Warner Brothers will have something totally different and totally new. Bret, SR received 10 Golden Globe Awards now that should tell you and Travis that Bryan Singer is a genious. He may have made some dissapointments in the film that doesn't rule out Chris Nolan, Louis Leterrier and Jon Favreau for their comic book master pieces The Incredible Hulk, The Dark Knight and Ironman. Every great director messes up. Travis tells me that Bryan Singer should follow the genious mind of Chris Nolan. Okay, I'll give him that but, Superman can be used for the top 3 blockbusters of 2008 but, he needs to be broght back into his original comic book origin. Action Comics is a fantastic source to build Superman where he needs to be.

Thanks, Bret

I think i have the right to judge considering i am going to be the one buying the ticket. things like this are made for people to voice opinions on movies if they want to, everyone can judge and be a critic because in the end these movies are made for us and we should be able to say what we please about a movie or producion company trying to create something with such a following such as Superman and they aren't going to use Returns at all in the reboot...they are scrapping returns.....I never said Singer was a bad director he has made great movies and the flick with Tom Cruise has potental but i haven't seen it yet ...waitin on that one....I just said he should look at what Nolan did with the Batman movies...Nolan stayed true to the comics with the characters and how they act and look and orgins that all fit in with modern times and he also made each character his own in a way like he did with Harvey Dent in the Dark Knight by making him ma vigilante instead of a mob boss or crime figure....by the way Eckart should get the Oscar over Ledger.....His role was the real driving force behind the movie in my opinion, but Ledger was fantastic as well.

Travis, I disagree with you buddy because doing a reboot to Superman will put The Man of Steel back where he is in the comic books. Louis Leterrier genious director behind the Transporter films with Jason Statham put The Incredible Hulk back where he belongs and that is in the comics as I said. You, say that Warner Brothers has made a bad move by making Superman a rebooted film they can still use the story plot from Superman Returns just change the written stories.

Wait and see man Warner Brothers knows what they are doing who are you to judge and tell them any different. Not, to make you mad just have faith man.

God Bless You Travis!!!

It's going to be alright

Superman is still The Man of Steel!!!

Travis, I think Bryan Singer has a different idea this time about Superman Returns it was dissappointing to a degree but, alot different from XMEN and XMEN 2. If, you haven't seen the trailer yet to Wolverine: XMEN Origins I think you better watch it the film is the way it should be for a Marvel franchise you are about to see The Xmen as they are seen in the comic books. Superman The Man of Steel will be done the same way but, it will be more on the stage of The Incredible Hulk and The Dark Knight. Bryan Singer I bet has seen what Chris Nolan has done and will hire new writers like Mark Millar and possibly Jeph Loeb to write the revitatlized script for the Superman sequel. No, Travis Bryan Singer is a fantastic director he has a film coming next year called, Valkyrie with Tom Cruise. If, he has a God goven gift to direct blockbusters like that. Certainly, he is a man of his word with making Superman Man of Steel Wrath of Khan with more action that the fans want. You, will be blown away when you see Superman in 2011. Spiderman started off good, but then Avi Arad just had to disgrace Venom like thatin Spiderman 3. Marvel is developing a Venom spin-off film because Venom is such a large asset to Marvel and his son Carnage is also a Marvel legend and all star. Carnage will either appear in Spiderman 4 or Venom spinoff. I wouldn't doubt it if Carnage appeared in both films. Like, I said Carnage is a Marvel legend and all star like his pop Venom.

Thanks,

Travis for your concern with
Superman but Bryan Singer
will do better I have faith in God
that he will have a better plan on the sequel.

Zack Snyder is also a good candidate to direct
Superman Man of Steel. Who knows.

Travis, did you know that it wasn't The XMEN that
inspired Bryan Singer to do comic book based films
it was Superman. Supes is one of the greatest superheros
in the comic book universe.

it doesn't even matter now.......man of steel is a reboot......which is gay cause it wasn't even close to being as bad as the hulk.....and there was really no need for a reboot....Warner Bros is making a bad move.....

Dude, Singer is doing the same thing with Superman that he did with the X-men films. The first X-men sucked......but it set everything up and let you get to know the characters and when X2 came out it was awesome cause you already knew everything you needed to know about the characters and you were ready for action and a better storyline....i have faith that Singer is doing the same thing and that Returns just set the stage for Man of Steel and that it will be the shit.......now if Singer was smart he would have watched how Nolan did the two Batman movies (which were great and the best comic francise films ever....sorry spiderman) and created a masterpiece....but everyone has there own way.....its the same thing as X-men to X2
