I’m about to make an admission that might make you question my overall taste in movies…
I didn’t hate the first Fast and the Furious movie. I actually thought it was a bunch of fun, in a don’t take it serious, laugh at the cheesiness type of way. That said, the other two films sucked worse than a Martin Lawrence movie. And this is coming from a guy who was actually looking forward to Tokyo Drift 1. because of the setting, and 2 because of the director Justin Lin, who had such a promising early start with the indie Better Luck Tomorrow. I always felt that one thing the sequels really lacked was the complete return of the original trio.
Well good news my friends, Michelle Rodriguez has signed on to reteam with Paul Walker and Vin Diesel (in more than a cameo) in the yet to be titled Fast and the Furious 4. It should be noted that Jordana Brewster is also returning for the fourth film. Does this mean the film has any chance of being good? Probably not… But it offers the hope of such.
The Fast and the Furious 4 hits theaters on June 5, 2009.

Discuss: Do you care more about Fast and the Furious 4 now that Michelle Rodriguez, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker are all on board?

It won’t be good, but I’ll probably watch it anyways. I have yet to see 3 because it just looked too shitty to be entertaining.
Also Better Luck Tomorrow is an awesome movie.

I liked The Fast and the Furious better when it was called Point Break. I liked Paul Walker better when he was called Keanu Reeves.

PS - Better Luck Tomorrow is fucking boring.

These movies, and movies like them are deplorable…
I absolutely HATED them ALL because of the impact they have on young people in a small city. I’ve been a police officer for 12 years and after the 1st movie came out, we had a hard time keeping up with the incidents it caused.
Everyone thought they WERE Vin Diesel and their ‘96 Dodge Neons WERE fast and furious so long as they had a huge pipe on the back and stickers all over their windows. We had more accidents in our town after the 1st movie than we’ve ever had, and more 16-25yo fatalities. Believe me: Scraping a 16yo off of the pavement because he thought he was fast and furious is NOT glamorous or ‘cool’. We had our 2nd highest year of accidents after Tokyo Drift came out. Again, everyone thought they could “drift” like in the movie and it ended in over a half-dozen 16-25yo fatalities.
These movies cost the lives of young people all over the country. I’m sorry, but kids nowadays have no perception of what’s real and what’s not. They see it on TV, so it must be real.

I too loved better luck tomorrow.
I won’t see this though, I can’t stand Michelle Rodriguez, and Vin Diesel is only good in a few of his roles. So I will skip this one.

michelle rodriguez needs to become an hero
March 6th, 2008 at 12:06 pm
needs to have all the freakin cast from 1-3…for this movie to do any good…I hardly see any rice burners on the street nowadays, I know there out there, but not as much as before….dont think this is a good idea, I d rather see vin do another riddick movie, sci fi nerds need another trilogy..the movie could do without michelle…..

This news actually DOES give me a slight interest in seeing this flick when it comes out. Like the Saw franchise, I’ve already invested too much time into this series NOT to see the next one, and I for one am glad the initial cast will be back together again.
March 6th, 2008 at 12:26 pm
Did anyone even ask for a sequel to the first one? Yeah it made alot of money but that doesn’t mean it’s worthy of a sequel, now they want a forth, what they gonna do race against some alien villain, and then in the fifth they’re gonna race a ghost, a vampire, and Frankenstein. I’ll admit I liked the first one but I don’t think it needed a sequel, sone things should be left alone.

I was seriously hoping for a collaboration between all three movies, especially Tokyo Drift, I thought Tokyo Drift did an amazing job, and added a major cliffhanger at the end of the movie for continuation. I am hoping that Lucas Black or Sung Kang has some type of appearance. Paul Walker did say on TRL when 2 Fast 2 Furious hits, that if they were do to another one, that everyone would be included…meaning the original cast. I think they added a great story element in Tokyo Drift, and wish they developed it based off of that. We will see when things get a little closer in time.

I hate Michelle Rodriguez. I will never see this movie.
March 6th, 2008 at 2:25 pm
yeah if all the cast comes back it would be aight what about tyrese
March 6th, 2008 at 2:40 pm
Damn, I always wondered who was actually seeing these movies. I bet it’s like the short bus in there.

Paul Walker is the poor man’s Keanu Reeves, and yes, that is a tremendous insult. The only reason Reeves isn’t as bad is because he has Bill and Ted to his credit. Paul Walker has nothing but blank stares and vapidity.
I never rooted for a train wreck harder than I did at the end of that first movie.

Yes, I do care more about FATF4 _if_ those originals are back. Jordana Brewster is icing. (Mmm, brunette icing.) Anyway, it may just be worth a download off TPB in 2009, which is a huge improvement over the last couple.
March 7th, 2008 at 3:45 am
Can’t wait, never thought they will re-group….great news, looking forward to it
March 7th, 2008 at 6:41 am
Ha! I didn’t care about the first FATF let alone any of the sequels. Can someone please make a decent car movie? The best I’ve seen in the last several years was probably DEATH PROOF and that was mostly a regurgitation of VANISHING POINT and GONE IN 60 SECONDS.
March 7th, 2008 at 11:05 pm
ya agree with oakside..the original cast are back and thats all i care about i been waitng for this for 8 eight and it finally happy im stoke..i hope vince and leon make a cameo
March 9th, 2008 at 9:47 am
Its funny how all three of the actors, Walker, Diesel, and Rodriguez couldnt run away fast enough after FF1 came out. Now as their star powers have faded to straight to DVD territory its funny to see them jumping at the chance to be relevant again by doing FF4..
March 10th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
MIchelle Rodriguez driving recklessly? How against type!
May 12th, 2008 at 3:25 pm
i love all three movies personally, at first i was not happy about Tokyo drift when i was told that the original characters were not apart of it but after i saw i was amazed and i liked how it took place some where else in the movie n with other competitors and at the end meeting up with Vin Diesel and i cant wait until for!..and also im so glad i get to c Michelle again she is amazing.
