Has Transformers 2 begun location scouting?
It is revealed in an article in Mainline Today that Michael Bay’s big budget sequel has applied for tax incentives to shoot in and around Philadelphia starting in June. M Night Shyamalan’s big screen live action adaptation Avatar has also applied for the same incentives.

Wait, Shyamalan is doing an Avatar movie too? Why can’t Jim Cameron get a break?

What? I thought Cameron was doing Avatar.

you mean “the happening” for M. Night or Jim Cameron for Avatar i think…

M. Night Shyamalan is doing an avatar movie based on the cartoon show avatar.
James Cameron’s AVATAR is a completely different beast. Not relates to show in any form whatsoever.

The article clearly states M Night Shyamalan’s Avatar, and not The Happening, which is already done production. Shyamalan’s Avatar is an adaptation of the popular nickelodeon anime series of the same name. Totally unrelated to Cameron’s film.

I don’t think M. Night is exactly the type of director I would see doing an Avatar movie. I have a nephew that adores the show and I can see Avatar doing to him what the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Vanilla Ice did for me. This should prove interesting.

well thanks for the confusion, then clarification, Peter. This is my first time hearing of an M.Night Avatar movie. I think it could be a good turn for Mr. Shyamalan.

Its been talked of for a while now.
Its not Avatar as in James Cameron’s huge Avatar project. Its a live action movie based on the Nickelodeon cartoon Avatar: The Last Airbender.
I must say I’m a bit fan of the cartoon. In terms of design, back story and the world they live in its got a lot of potential.
Not sure if it’ s right for M.Night tho.

The story follows the adventures of the successor to a long line of Avatars who must put aside his irresponsible ways and stop the Fire Nation from enslaving the Water, Earth and Air nations.

Im not ashamed to admit that I watch Avatar and Im glad to hear some more information about it. And like Scotty said, the story has a lot of potential and I cant wait to see some bending.
