Huey Lewis was my first concert when I was 11 (this was 1986–yea, I’m old). I’ve always had a soft spot for Huey and have grown to not be ashamed of it. Sports and… that next one I can’t think of the title… those albums rocked, even if they all kinda sound alike. But make no mistake, brutha–Huey Lewis is COOL.

Do you like Huey Lewis and the news? Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when Sports came out in ‘83, I think they really came into their own, commercial and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He’s been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far much more bitter, cynical sense of humour.

Huey Lewis is superfly. I was already excited about this movie, but the prospect of a new, vintage-style Huey Lewis song to accompany it pushes me into the realms of “completely stoked.” I’d say I’m only anticipating Wall-E and The Dark Knight, and _maybe_ Iron Man more.
