Update: I just got off the phone with Paramount, and have confirmed that the shoot in Pasadena is actually just an establishing shot. The studio claims that no lead actors will be featured during the additional photography on Friday, and that this shot was planned for during production, but they decided to wait until editing to see if they would actually need it. So there you have it.
I got a tip in my e-mail box that Steven Spielberg is reshooting some scenes for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in Pasadena on Friday February 29th 2008. I have confirmed with the Pasadena Film office that Genre Productions, LLC (the production office used for Indiana Jones 4) will be shooting something at residential street address which had a building permit issue in late January. So this could just be an additional exterior shot or something. I’m not sure if this is the only day of additional photography, but it’s the only day of production in Pasadena, California.
Reshoots and additional photography is thought to be never a good thing, but has become a normal thing now-a-days. I hate to jump to conclusions… Anyone have any more information on the additional photography on Indy 4? E-mail me!

Never a good thing? universal studios had major reshoots on The Bourne Identity. I bet they are reshooting it to make it better and it is only a few scenes.

There are tons of early 20th-century Craftsman-style homes in that area. Odds are likely they’re shooting house exteriors.

Right, probably just exteriors of Indy’s house - I think it’s a Craftsman in “Raiders”, isn’t it?

Maybe they’re reshooting to put Short Round in the place of Shia. I’m not sure it would be a better choice, but it would be a different choice.

Reshoots or “pick-ups” are an entirely normal part of filmmaking. They’re even planned for in the budget of every major motion picture. You shoot, you go to the editing room, you make the first rough cut, you decide you need a few additional angles or there’s a bad continuity problem and you go out and shoot what you need. Reshoots are perfectly normal. They happen on almost every movie. And since this is just for a single day, I’d say they’re lucky. Reshoots commonly take up to a week or even two.

This is actually standard operating procedure for most Lucasfilm productions. Reshoots are factored in before filming even starts. Nothing to worry about.
Elver has it correct.

Bay should do the re-shoots. Lets loosely tie every article to that twat today.

wow, a jab at Bay instead of Lucas? Has everyone in online land hopped onto a new bandwagon?

I’d like to see Short Round as a bitter old drunk come back to destroy Indy for ruining his life somehow. But that’s just me.

Suprise reshoots to include Sean Connery? Wishful thinking at best, its probably just run of the mill stuff.

On movies of this size- reshoots are totally commonplace and definitely not a signifier of final-quality- especially for only one day.
If a different director had been brought on to handle the reshoots- that may have raised my eyebrows, but it looks like this film is cruising along

who gives a flying f? If you saw the trailer, all they have to do is sit in front of the computer an extra week and create more fake Ford legs running and jumping off of trailers. Weak ass, this will do for Indiana what Lucas did when he bent over the Stars Wars franchise.
