The new trailer for Peter Segal’s big screen adaptation of Get Smart is now online. Warner Bros premiered the trailer at WonderCon in San Frnacisco this past weekend, and the crowd seemed to love it. A few of the people I talked to had next to no interest in the film until they saw this new trailer. It’s becoming more clear that they have captured the comic tone of the original series, which was created by Mel Brooks. i never was excited for thisw film until i saw the “cone of silence” part…i may actually go see this movie after that trailer.

did the fact that ‘tha rock’ is in this ruin it for anyone else? he has been box-office poison for a while now…
however, the trailer somehow rose above it/him - there were some genuinely funny gags in there -

I’m usually think movie remakes of TV shows are stupid, but this one looks to be pretty solid and I can’t think of anyone better than Steve Carell to play the new Maxwell Smart.

judging movies based on trailers is like judging a song if you cut it up into 5 - 10 2-3 second clips and mashed them all together. Some might sound better than others but you are never going to get a sense of what the song is.
making proclamations about the quality of the film based on trailer only makes you look stupid.
