Iron Man Bust

Iron Man BustI’m not usually one for comic book or movie busts. I think it just looks weird having a head and shoulders, but no arms. I’d much rather a whole statue. But Sideshow Collectibles has just announced the release of possibly the coolest bust I’ve ever seen. This is so cool that I almost want to buy it. But for $699.99, my wallet might have to resist.

Sideshow partnered with Stan Winston Studios to create a stunning Iron Man Life-Size bust in celebration of the upcoming Iron Man movie. Iron Man has been captured in 1:1 scale in his unique powered armor, taken directly from the molds used to create the film costume.

The bust is cast in high-quality fiberglass, hand finished and hand painted to exacting standards, and features LED light-up glowing eyes. The Iron Man bust stands two feet tall, and will ship in the third quarter of 2008. You can preorder now on Sideshowtoy.com. Check out some more photos after the jump.

I’m not a huge Iron Man fan, but even I would consider buying this. A little cost prohibitive, though…

For 700 I would want to be able to put that thing on and shoot repulsor rays out of my eyes(or some such Iron Manny type thing).

Rumor has it they were going to make a John Favreau bust, but because of material costs, it would have been too expensive.

Yea, $700 is a little crazy but god damn I really, really want one. How frickin’ awesome would it be to have this shit in your living room starring you down every time you watch a movie? Hell yea! *buys one*

I have just pre-ordered this, despite the cost. I just couldn’t resist. It truly is a thing of beauty, isn’t it. When my husband finds out i’ll tell him its an investment and I plan to sell at the best possible time (ehh, never!) for maximum profit (big lie). Eating is overrated anyway.
