Why is fanboy sentiment high? Well, in one issue of “Cable Deadpool” (can’t remember the issue number right now) Deadpool compares himself to Ryan Renolds. He actaully calls himself Ryan Renolds crossed with a Shar Pei. Also, the character frequently breaks the fourth wall and refers to himself being inside a comic book. If a character in a movie was supposed to be real, but constantly referred to the movie around him, how would that effect the final film? Anyway, this is due to his brain re-writing itself every few seconds which is a side effect of cancerous cells and the weapon X project and *GAH!*

yeah wolvies on lock with Hugh, i like the idea of Ryan doing Deadpool, i think i would have liked him a little better as The Flash though but ill take it, id love to see the way they do his skin under the mask

Im glad he is doing a movie where he is doing something else than comedy or love movies. Dont get me wrong, hes great doing those films but he gets to show his off all the hard work that he puts in the gym. Id love to play a super hero..Atleast I got to be his body double rescently.

I just read an article recently where he (Ryan Reynolds) said he would play the role if asked. He didn’t say definitely. Also, note that the article referenced as the source for this one does not state him as a pure definite for the role either and has no source link.

Ryan Reynolds is hilarious, just naturally, in a very sarcastic way.

He also doesn’t have trouble putting on muscle (see: Blade Trinity).

I’m sure he’ll be great in the role.

just announced that a guy from Friday night lights is playing gambit. Depending on how they weave all these characters in, this movie could be very very cool! Reynolds would be great as deadpool, so long as they don’t get the disasterous ‘venom treatment’. Hunter, I’m curious why yer not seeing reynolds as deadpool? He bulked up pretty good for blade & his comic talent is perfect for the merc.

I actually really like the idea of Reynolds as Deadpool. I think it’s something he can pull off. As far as the vibe of the movie? Sounds like they’re trying to shove way too many characters into it, which was one of the giant problems with SM3 and X-men3.

I hear you, but this movie is about the origins about wolverine, not about Deadpool. Not all the focus could be brought onto him. I don’t want to compare Deadpool to SM3’s Venom, but I am hoping that it doesn’t turn out that way.

They’re so many complex characters in the Marvel Universe that need their own film for that matter. I have been waiting for some word on Gambit, but nothing has risen.
