Punisher is the only super hero without sup powers? I guess he never heard of that batman guy?

And coincidently enough his ideas for TP Reboot are precisely what was done in Batman Begins. Grit, urban, real people as villians/allies. not a very original angle really.

They already made the Punisher movie, it was called "Man on Fire" with Danzel.

Dolph Lundgren's version was still better than the Thomas Jane film.

@ Simon G

The last Punisher movie was set in sunny Florida and saw John Travolta give a scarily vacant performance. Also, it played like a cartoon. Not sure how that aligns with a gritty NYC-set Punisher.

@ Aleks

He's not referencing the comics, he's talking about the filmmakers on Punisher: War Zone

@ Marco

Check out the comments to his blog post where he clarifies what he meant.

Shutter's vision of a Punisher movie = The Punisher 2004...

«I dropped Frank in a real New York City with real villians, real cops, real relationships. To me, the Punisher deserved more than the usual comic book redress.»

To me, this description looks very similar to the version of Thomas Jane, and I don't want to see that again.

" To me, the Punisher deserved more than the usual comic book redress. It shouldn’t just follow the feature superhero formula. Apparently, I was the only one who shared that vision.”"

WTF - Has he read the MAX line of the Punisher? There's absolutely no superhero formula in those books.
