LA artist AUGOR has taken over the Paramount Vantage There Will Be Blood billboard on Melrose and Mansfield in Los Angeles. I love how Daniel Day-Lewis is now sitting on a skull. Paramount should hire this guy to create artwork for future films. Click on the photo below to see the billboard up close.

The juxtaposition of TWBB’s fun/neu marketing and the film’s from-the-Earth aesthetics and its bleaker than bleak message is fascinating. PVantage deserves a giant dab.

update: guess I was giving credit to Paramount Vantage that wasn’t there in this instance. Their billboard was bombed.
Sign of the times that I thought it was commissioned. Sorry, AUGUR.
