Juno Game Not RealDuring the opening session at the D.I.C.E. Summit in Las Vegas, former Eidos Interactive president and current intellectual-property migration specialist Keith Boesky said, “People are making games based on Juno just to cater to the [casual] market.” The world of video game blogs went crazy, reporting that Eidos Interactive was making a video game based on Fox Searchlight’s little indie dramedey which has unexceptionally killed at the box office.

A Juno video game?

Honest to blog?

Nope…

Boesky later clarified comment, saying that he referenced Juno as a model. As in the “low-budget, small break out” model. Boesky even claimed that he hadn’t even seen the movie.

I’m one of the biggest fans of the film, but I’m still left wondering: What would you even do in a Juno video game? Maybe it would be a point and click game like Monkey Island where instead you walk around and crack whipsmart sarcasm filled dialogue?

how this movie beat out the ‘assasination of jesse james…’ for best pic & best director oscar nods…i’ll never know. ya’ll can keep your bubble gum flicks, & overbearing mom’s to be - a true showdown for the gold would be ‘james’, ‘no country’, & ‘blood’. precious, and nothing more.

thank you for adding “Honest To Blog?” in the post. That made me giggle… and if you hadn’t doen it I woulda!

That’s a dumb concept for a game. I mean I hardly understand why any movie would be turned into a game but much less Juno….

    RE: McLovin

I think it’s actually a fantastic idea for a game. Like the post said, it could be done in a point-and-click style game like Monkey Island or Full Throttle. The old LucasArts point and clicks were some of the best games ever made, and I think Juno could do it. Granted, some changes and additions would have to be made, but the movie would provide a solid base to grow from.

I miss the fun casual nature of old school Sierra and LucasArts adventure gaming. I do not think Juno is a good example more so because 90% of movies into video game transitions fail miserably.

In a Juno video game you have to use the powered up tic-tacs to beat the kraken boss. I’m sure once a film appears popular, they’ll want to make a video game out of it. Usually they decide before the movie is out.
