McG is hinting that No Country for Old Men star Josh Brolin might be cast as the new Terminator in Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins. This is addition to the already officially announced Christian Bale as John Connor would certainly raise the level of talent in front of the camera in the start of this new science fiction trilogy.
“There’s guys out there like Russell Crowe and Eric Bana, bring a good physicality, they do what they do, but I don’t know if they’re exactly right at the end of the day,” McG smiles before telling Two-One-Three: “Josh Brolin is a very exciting actor - we’ll see.”
How would you guys feel about the idea of Josh Brolin playing the new Terminator?
Comment Below!Â
McG also gives an update on the preproduction process:
“We’re prepping the picture right now. The script is largely done, whether or not we’re able to prep off of it, obviously we want to continue to work on it, punch it up and we’re hoping for an expedient finish to the writer’s strike. But I’ve got my fingers crossed that in a week or two it will be over.”

I think we need someone with a more foreign european look (like what Arnold brought). Although Brolin would up the star power for the movie.
So I’d give the casting choice 8/10.
We should offer some better choices

Okay nevermind I’m moving my rating up to 9/10 based on this pic

I got two words for ya… “The Rock”.
He’d lay the smackdown on John Connor.
February 6th, 2008 at 11:12 am
The Rock might be a little much. But yeah I think with the right make-up he would do a great job. Just not sold on his acting skills though.
February 6th, 2008 at 12:16 pm
I could live without more Terminator. McG sucks.
February 6th, 2008 at 12:35 pm
I’d also still keep in mind McG as the major determinant of whether this project will be something to be excited about, or just a harbinger of Christian Bale getting cast in less surefire/shittier movies.

Meh. Doesn’t knock my socks off. Now if they cast Vin Diesel, there’s a chance. Throw in a cameo of Brock Lesnar too!
February 6th, 2008 at 12:58 pm
..Vin Diesel?
…The Rock?
Wow, probably the same crowd here who went to Meet the Spartans on opening day.
Josh Brolin is awesome for this role, great actor in comparison to the two meat logs.
February 6th, 2008 at 12:59 pm
I don’t think Vin Diesel would fit in very well.
I was thinking Brock Lesner too.
Since were talking ex-pro wretlers let me mention Nathan Jones.

While I think The Rock actually has some talent and is a pretty smart guy on top of all that muscle. Brolin would be a good choice overall.
February 6th, 2008 at 1:32 pm
McPee would be f*cking lucky to get any of the actors he is “considering”. We all remember when he tossed out D.D.Lewis’s name like it was some kind of whim. He should shit his pants to work with Lewis. Could he really handle that?
If MickeyG gets any of the aforementioned its becuase of the studio wallet and not for any desire of the actor to truly collaborate. What a tool. I expect him to ham up his actual importance to this movie to no end hence forth because he is already greatly extrapolating his ability contribute. If this movie is good it will be because Bale decides to take initiative in himself and create some real depth. Brolin is more than capable of lending the picture some true scope and balancing out Bale on the talent teeter-totter.
hahaha “The Rock”. hahaha “Vin Diesel”. thats funny stuff.
February 6th, 2008 at 3:10 pm
Javier Bardem as the new Terminator! Haha. He would be so creepy.
February 6th, 2008 at 3:37 pm
This seems like a fairly solid choice, though I really don’t think they need another Cyborg terminator at this point. They could make it work, sure, but they’ll need a damn good reason.
February 6th, 2008 at 3:47 pm
brolin showed a LOT in NCFOM - i was completely caught off-guard. now, McG - there’s my problem. the guy who did freagin Charlies Angels is taking over the terminator franchise? james cameron is spinning in his grave.
whats that? he’s not dead yet? oh… well, let me rephrase -
James Cameron is laughing all the way to the bank.
February 6th, 2008 at 5:21 pm
how bout … stay with me on this … go in a complrtrly different direction … say crispen glover? I know that may sound like heresy … but just think of more creepy version ofa terminator.
February 7th, 2008 at 5:20 am
He better keep the moustache.
February 7th, 2008 at 6:21 am
Here we go… what about Ed Norton… huh???? JK…
well… maybe….
February 7th, 2008 at 6:57 am

Brolin is so much more attractive inside the moral kiosk.

Steve Innes from Perth would be a good choice and could pull it off: Tall, heavy, looks like Crowe but a bit younger and more intelligent, sounds better and can sing!
Still in Australia I hear - stuck in TV commitment.
Another Aussie could be Heath Hedger but he’s dead, even if he is from Perth, so Innes will have to do.
June 17th, 2008 at 1:40 am
Terminator The Musical? Off broadway, surely.
It’s Ledger, not Hedger isn’t it?
Who said Crowe can sing?
Yes, Innes can, he was on the other night.
Looks like he might be in the new Dune film and something in Oz.
Who is he related to? Hammond Innes(writer)?, Laura Innes(actor)?
Anyone know this guy?
Nothing much in his website about him and family, other than his agent is the same as Bana’s and Crowe’s.
Doesn’t really look much like Crowe - more like young Richard Chamberlain and sounds like classic Richard Burton.

Yes, cast S.Innes as new cyborg predator. Imagine 6 foot tall, cultured, educated, totally impassive monster with quiet, yet deep booming voice and face of stone with intense blue green eyes.
Look at his webpage and his clips and see what I mean.
Scary and leave J.Brolin in dust.
I read he’s good freind with Sam Worthington who is also actor from Perth Austraila and will be in T4 and went to same school but never act together yet.
I never hear of S.Worthington though.

This sure is a busy forum lately.
The Rock can’t act but looks the part for sure.
He would be nearly twice as big as Steve Innes so Innes would be more a Robert Patrick T1000 in size than The Rock.
Is Innes the one who is always in Stargate and the new StarTrek film?
I don’t know who Worthington is.
Who are all these Aussies getting parts in our films?
A lot of them coming from Perth - see how remote the place is?
June 18th, 2008 at 11:04 pm
Who the hell are Steve Innes and Sam Worthington?
Where the hell is Perth?
These guys are aussie?
June 23rd, 2008 at 5:54 pm
Innes has a link to his website via the Bedford & Pearce website.
B&P also represent Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman and are a Sydney (Aust) based actors agency.

On ET a few nights ago I saw Steve Innes and Mel Gibson talking about the upcoming Edge Of Darkeness movie which is a remake of a 1980’s Brit mini series.
I thought it was Russell Crowe at first as Innes looks a lot like him but younger and better looking.
Gibson’s not looking too well these days.
July 2nd, 2008 at 10:41 pm
I thought Josh Brolin and Steve Innes looked a lot more like each other than people say - another forum said Innes and Russell Crowe look very alike bit I did not think so and Crowe looks nothing like Brolin.
Anyway, Innes and Brolin are both about 38-39 with Crowe being 44 or something. Innes and crowe have the same full head of hair of the same colour and Brolin has this thin lank dark wisp of hair.
His dad looks so much better, even now.
Innes looks much better than Crowe I think and much, much better than Brolin.
July 7th, 2008 at 7:54 pm
Steve Innes comes from a pretty established family of performers and people linked to the business.
His Dad was the half brother of author Hammond Innes (dead) and he is a cousin to US/Canadian actor Laura Innes from ER.
His dad (dead) was a TV producer and set designer in London for LWT and THAMES and his Mom (not dead?) used to run the Prince Of Wales hotel in Jersey (Channel Isle’s) where Steve regularly came face to face with the likes of Tom Jones, The Beatles, Richard Burton, Liz Taylor, Steve Mqueen, Richard Harris, Oliver Reed, Richard Chamberlain, John Wayne, ect, ect, ect.
His Mom (later) also ran the old MECCA club in London in the early 70’s and Steve was exposed to a great many more influential people and the excesses of that age.
Must have sucked to move to dead quiet Perth (Australia) with Mom after the family broke up.

Where the hell is Perth?
Who the hell is Steve Innes?
