Nathan - The guilt and shame you bear for being an American allows the rest of us to visit countries worldwide, full of shame-free curiousity and goodwill towards the citizens of those various nations. I've experienced the same coming from Japanese or French visitors to the US. It certainly never occurred to me at those times to insist they act more like Americans, since they were "in country" after all. The next time I see an Italian over here, and she's acting or talking too Italian to pass for an American, I'm going to beat the crap out of her. I'm sure you would agree she'd deserve it, Nathan. Thanks for the heads up man!!

Someone needs to make the movie "Where in the World is Osama Obama?" Clearly, we have way too many socially challenged Americans who don't even remember who Osama Bin Laden is and what he is accused of doing and who are confusing Osama Bin Laden with Barack Obama. This would make for a most interesting movie since all us Americans should be better informed.

The stars of the movie should be Mitt Romney and John McCain. They clearly need an education in personal identification.

Osama "Strawman" Bin Laden will never be captured. The US Administration don't want him found. They more than likely know exactly where he is.

If he were to be found and captured, the administration would need to invent a new strawman to keep the fear levels up.

Wake up america.

You make a good point Peter, and I admit that I haven't read all the reviews, specifically FSR's.

I have no problem with it being a "primer" movie. However, this is not how you generate publicity for a primer:

From MSNBC:

Rumors are flying that filmmaker Morgan Spurlock of "Super Size Me" fame may have done what the United States government has failed to do for the last six years — find Osama bin Laden.

Adding to the belief, Daniel Marracino, the film's director of photography, is quoted in Variety, saying of the movie, <b>"We've definitely got the Holy Grail."</b>

I've definitely seen this same article several places, which leads me to suspect that much of this is copy/pasted from a press release. I call shenanigans. The only documentary filmmakers allowed to make such boastful claims and then not deliver the goods are the Bigfoot researchers ;).

+1 for their mention of /Film. Entire 'article' here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22115291/

Still, I'm fairly new to this community (and I dig the site quite a bit) so I might have to give this one the benefit of the doubt, if only to get a better idea of our similarities/differences in taste. It's also possible that I've been turned off to anything Spurlock after the constant radio/TV spots plugging his FX TV series.

Cinemaniac: I read a bunch of positive reviews. FilmSchoolRejects highly praised the film. I think a lot of people were turned off with A. the claim of him finding Osama and B. That he covers no huge new ground. The film acts as a great primer, but people would have rather had spurlock chase conspiracy theories

Peter, you are the ONLY person I've heard of who has seen the movie and liked it, but I think a lot of people feel burned by the crazy pre-screening statements that allude to the idea that Spurlock may have actually FOUND OBL.

I don't know what I find more annoying about this clown, his name or everything else about him. I say we put him in the thunderdome with Michael Moore...
