A bunch of middle school kids interview Juno director Jason Reitman at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. One of the brats asks Reitman where he finds time to call his father (Ivan Reitman) when he needs to know where to put the camera. Another one of the kids follows up with a question asking “Since you really have no chance of winning the Academy Award, was it still fun being nominated?” The look on Reitman’s face is hilarious. I need to find these middle school kids and hire them on to do interviews for /Film… oh yeah, and that sexman guy too…
I’m not sure who set up this interview (Reitman?), or who scripted the questions (Diablo Cody?), but I think it’s great that Jason went along with the whole thing.

Pretty disrespectful imo. If those kids are the future of the press things are not looking very bright…

that was pretty funny. however it couldn’t have looked more staged. it looked like everyone was in on the gag and i would be surprised if it didn’t end up on the tonight show.

Haha, that was pretty harsh. Funny though.

@fapos: I agree. It looks really staged. Funny, but could have been better.

Andrea: It’s called comedy… look it up.

This is pretty funny. I wouldn’t be surprised if either Jason had something to do with setting this up or if it was a practical joke. The kids could have sold it better, though. I would have loved to see some deadpan middle schooler asking these questions… Like Josh Flitter (the kid from License to Wed and Nancy Drew). That would have made it more like the Edgar Wright, Jonah Hill, Michael Cera interview. Funny, nonetheless.

Those kids were awful the whole week. They almost ruined The Band’s Visit for me. I got pissed.

Who ever took this seriously needs to dig pretty deep find their sense of humor. This was hysterical. NOT disrespectful as someone said. They had a blast doing it. So instead of bagging with negativity, laugh with the rest and enjoy the moment from these kids eyes Yes that includes Jason’s too. He was great for instigating it!
Don’t take yourselves so seriously…..really :-)
