Be Kind Rewind

In Michel Gondry’s new film Be Kind Rewind, Jack Black and Mos Def must rerecord classic movies to replace broken vhs tapes. The process is described in the film as sweding, or “re-making something from scratch using whatever you can get your hands on.” At the Apple Store tour, Gondry was showing off a Be Kind Rewind movie trailer which he sweded all by himself, which means he played all the characters, constructed all the props and locations. If you haven’t yet, please watch the original Be Kind Rewind movie trailer. Then check out Gondry’s fantastic sweded version below.

Sorry to interrupt this "awesome" discussion, but, it's just stupid and childish, even if i do understand what he's trying to say!

I've heard a few mediocre reviews for this flick, but I'm choosing to ignore them because I don't see how this movie won't be anything but fantastic. That being said:

1). Mad props to M. Gondry for being so incredibly awesome. I love someone who can poke fun at themselves.

2). +1 to Gondry for not doing the Mos Def parts in blackface. That would've been in bad taste... even for a Frenchman.
  • @ LEAFYD: same here!

also, I found that there's a bunch of sweded clips on youtube in a Be Kind channel.
