Video Clips: Assassination of a High School President

One of the best films of this year’s Sundance Film Festival is the Assassination of a High School President, which I described in my review as “If John Hughes had made Chinatown set in a High School” or “Brick with a sense of humor.”
I was just able to score five video clips from the upcoming film. Check them out after the jump. Now if only Yari would hurry up and release this film into theaters sometime before the announced August 2008 date…
I’m sure in the flow of the movie the context of these clips will have more resonance. As it stands I’ll chalk it up to an “eh” and wonder where all the black kids are.
Trust me guys, I have seen the film and this is the real deal. It’s not Brick, its something very different. I’m not sure the clips play as well out of context of the feature. I’m not one to easily fall for a movie. Before Sundance the last few films I got behind were Juno, There Will Be Blood, and the King of Kong, all of which ended up being the best reviewed films of last year. I’m not saying this will be the best film of this year, but trust me when I say you’ll love this movie.
Ms. Barton might not be a great actress, but oh my god, her voice :)
That alone is worth a watch.
Anyway, the movie does indeed look interesting. What I noticed though was the lack of any music in those clips. Any idea why that is?
mmmm if you say so Pete… I will trust you because every movie you told me to watch over the last year or two… i have and i have loved……
And hey Mischa doesn’t actually look bad in the clips. I mean her OC acting was very terrible at points that were serious…. so as long as she doesnt get tooo serious in this movie…
This movie looks so good. I hear the star, Reece Thompson, is amazing. When I first heard of the movie I was pretty pessimistic, but apparently there are a lot of twists and turns and it has gotten amazing reviews, as has the acting, I can’t wait for it to come out.
Hey, I thought the movie looked pretty good…I would want to watch it. =] I’m a Radio/Television/Film High School Student and I loved it. ;] But that last clip with Willis was kind of a little off. lol
this was filmed in my school over the summer, and it was impossible to do anything. There was security everywhere, I couldn’t walk to my locker to get my soccer equiptment without being questioned by someone. I could walk down the hall way and see extras all over. lol and my favorite part was my me and my friends where screaming waiting for my music teacher, and we work bruce up haaha! and than we had to move away from his trailer. good times
The most ridiculous part was no one could find there way around the school. The janitors posted maps all over the place.
They had to turn it into a “catholic” school, and when our school year started, they left the statues all over the place.
The funniest thing was my friends mom drove by and it had some catholic name written over the school, and she called the bored of edu. asking if we became a catholic school! haha.
i cant wait to see this!mischa barton is such an awsome actress shes so freaking cool.its about time she goes to the big screens.and joe perrino!omg cant wait to see him in this as well.last time i watched him in anything was from the mighty and the sopranos:)

This film looks stupid. I almost expected Willis to call him Mc Fly in the last clip.
