Personally…. I think the film should be scrapped. Take whats left and build a documentary about it like Lost in LaMancha.

Good move, but to osund like a broken record..shouldn’t be brought up until it’s confirmed. It’s as if we’re gossiping when the actor just passed away a couple of days ago. Seems tacky.

if they go forward with this, i believe depp is the only person who could step in and honor heath. it’d be a classy move. i really don’t feel that anybody else would be appropraite. depp and ledger both have history with gilliam, and i think this would be a bittersweet collaboration, and wouldn’t waste the effort ledger had put into the role. depp isn’t ‘replacing’ ledger, rather filling a sad void. i can’t get over how horrible this feels, seeing as i never knew the guy. (hunter has made a really nice post on this subject in an article discussing the changes made to TDK sites)

Just from watching the famed Lost in La Mancha, Depp looks like he likes and believes in Gilliam so it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he does it. I do agree w/ your point about it being a cruel pressure if he doesn’t want to do it however.
