The movie is ok but predictable. Some of the acting was really too much like ‘acting’ like the part where the guy repeats, “I don’t have money”. Maybe the guy was really some guy from a construction site who they hired because the film had a low budget. That guy probably knew that line well because, well, could it be art immitating life? But one thing is for sure, Angela still looks hot.

this statement solidifies that many more thinks he is a comedic innovation (which is what the movie entertainment needs) than the small population of haters who do not…..

and really he didn’t need too much funding and support from the movie industry because his stage plays were always sold out and a big hit before the snotty nose and wrinkled faced movie industry began to acknowlege him.

I’m sure that Peter, Hunter, the rest of the /film team, and every other blogger here will review all the comments, and see that noone has EVER knocked Tyler Perry because he is trying to support African American cinema. We comment negatively about him because he is just a bad filmmaker - in some people’s opinions. This is a website for fun and insightful debate, over past, current and future current aspects of film, and the entertainment world, not to start racial tensions, because you cannot have an intelligent and validated argument with someone.

THERE ARE SO MANY SO CALLED MOVIES INTENDED PURPOSELY TO ATTRACT THE CAUSCASIAN AUDIENCE AND AFRICAN AMERICANS STILL GO OUT TO SUPPORT THEM AND GIVE THEM A CHANCE….EXAMPLE: MY FAMILY AND I. SO WHY CAN’T THE CAUCASIAN AUDIENCE STOP HATING TYLER PERRY AND LET HIM DO HIS THING. IF YOU ALL CAN’T RELATE THAT IS FINE BUT JUST BECAUSE YOU CAN’T RELATE TO HIS MOVIE STORY FORM DOES NOT MEAN THAT HIS MOVIES ARE WORTHLESS. HIS MOVIES GIVE REPRESENTATION FOR BLACK FILMS AND FILMMAKERS IN THE ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY. THE AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMEN WHO SO LONG WENT WITHOUT A VOICE FROM SLAVERY UNTIL THE EARLY 1970′S AND WHEN THEY FINALLY GOT THEIR VOICE BACK FROM WORLDLY OPPRESSION (TRADITIONAL FAMILY ORIENTED OR NOT) THEY PUT IT TO GOOD USE. MOST OF THEM GAVE THE BEAUTIFUL, BOLD, PRECIOUS, VIVACIOUS, INTELLIGENT, SENSIBLE, HARDWORKING, INDEPENDENT WOMEN (LIKE ME) THE TOOLS (KNOWLEDGE AND VALUES) WE HAVE KNOW TO EXCELL IN THIS WORLD. Wow. I never knew who this Madea was until I just looked it up (I don’t like Tyler Perry). Madea is really disturbing IMO. Tyler Perry makes a very weird and disturbing looking woman.

I always love to see Angela Bassett as a leading lady in movies. The fact that its a Tyler Perry film is just icing on the cake. This is going to be a classic! Glad to see Angie back on screen.

Perry gets a lot of heat for being not that talented. But i beg to differ. I view him as an extremely gifted film maker. I am a 24 year old white male , not your typical perry fan but I love all types of film making. you must respect a man who can write , direct and total transform himself into numerous characters. The meadea character is pretty funny i think when he is doing imporv with the lines. of course there are some parts i get bored with in his movies , things i cant relate with but i totally relate with madea and that type of family figure because even tho she is a black women she transcends all races. …we all know a grandma like that

LOL! All Rick Fox had to do was stand there and
look good. He had a few lines, but the man is no
actor. It was funny to see him play Vanessa William’s
character’s lover as the two were once married. Quess
they really did part on good terms.
Rick needs to stay away, far away from the acting world.
And I was a fan of his when he was playing ball…though
more often for the eye candy than his playing. =X

Tyler Perry is in the running with Jason Freidberg & Aaron Seltzer (the guys who make epic movie, date movie, meet the spartans etc) to become the most mysterious filmakers in history. the mystery is that i cannot comprehend how they continue to get funding and support for their films. Yes i know that Perry’s movies turn a profit, but the fact that they all continuously get greelights on their projects just baffles me. a true sign that money, not quality, is more often than not the focus of a lot of studios.
