Unless July’s X Files sequel (still untitled) ends up being the franchise’s equivalent to Waxwork, I’d say the following photo contains a detrimental spoiler. If /Film was the government or Matt Drudge, we might unleash the sirens and Code Red alerts right now. Am I glad I saw them? Not really. Actually, no way! Are they cool? Sure, but I have a distinct “is that it?” comedown. JoBlo had one helluva spy who snapped some photos from the set. As for the photo below, that’s the film’s director and franchise creator, Chris Carter, on the right in blue. As for what’s on the left, if you head for the jump you’ll have no further questions.

How is this a spoiler? There is no context at all as far as the story (whatever it is) relates to that wolf (wolfman?) head.

The man isn’t wearing that bust, he’s just behind it fixing it up I think. It’s on some electronic device. If you crop the photo to edit the other stuff out it looks pretty awesome. Given the right lighting and camera work it could look awesome.

Maybe if it’s just, I dunno, part of a random werewolf dream in the film then it’s not a spoiler. I guess Mulder & Scully can always have a random werewolf nightmare in the film and end up going off on one of their investigations into the woods and it turns out that it was Frankenstein all along. What are the odds of that? To me, it’s a spoiler until proven otherwise.

I’ve heard Chris Carter say that X-Files II will definitely not be about UFO’s and aliens. I hope it isn’t about a werewolf. I was hoping it would be about a viral outbreak or whatever.

I’m gonna stand in my faith of Carter & co. we all know that when they put their minds to it, they can tell a story with the best in the biz. Besides, Duchoveny, Anderson - hell all of em - wouldn’t come back after all this time with a shitty script. I’m there opening night, even if I gotta pack silver bullets!

Yeah, this totally feels like a photo that was deliberately leaked to get people talking about the movie. I’m going to predict that the werewolf bust IS in the movie somewhere, but that the movie is not about werewolves.

Didn’t they already fight werewolves/skinwalkers in an episode? Don’t know if I’d pay $12 to see that one extended into a feature film. Unless their were a helluva lot wolfy’s, but that’s not really the x-file style.
May just go the torrent route in July and put a ticket price towards the dvd.

Looks ridiculous actually. Why would they use a costumed werewolf instead of CGI-ing the brute? Misleading info? Leaked on purpose? Probably.

I am still stoked. I used to love The X-Files. I remember when they used to film around where I live. I got Duchovny’s autograph when they were filming in the park right across the street from my house.

i hope to god they don’t sink that low on the ‘mow’ scale. it would be such a disappointment if they did something cheesy, considering the way they ended the series. If we’re getting a one-shot, i hope its at least intelligent and serious.

I can’t really see them going that far in the cheesy-thriller direction, but you never know. Also, You’d think that if this was a real photo there would be some others in a series leaked right along side.
Anyone see the Worldcon carpet interview where they asked David and Gillian about this pic? Gillian acts coy and David comes over and gasps, mutters “that’s Chris”. Ah Well, I do hope it’s a bit serious and respectable though, I hope they take their time, and do this well, i am so so very excited.

Honestly, do the majority of us even care what its about as long as we get to see our dynamic duo in something different than our boxd sets of the series?
I’m stoked! I don’t care what its about! I know it has a little to do with his sis and that she called on him for help even though he says “I need YOU on this.” And that they’ve obviously not been too close these last six years.
