Cloverfield: Rob’s Party Report

Rob's Party

I received an email from long time /Film reader Glenn D, who was lucky enough to attend “Rob’s Party” last night in New York City. Here is his report:

First off, the setup and execution of the party was a pretty poorly crafted event. I understand the premise and it was great to see the cast, but it was boardering on out of control. Once the cast showed up it became a mosh pit to take their pictures. Rob was in and of the bar in a matter of minutes. I was barely able to snap a photo of him. Everyone else though hung out long enough for me to get a shot. You had to be really aggersive and persistant to have a picture taken. The cast themselvs were really nice and cool about the whole thing. Odette Yustman saw me trying to get a picture with her and she kind of went out of her way to help me out. I attached the few photos I was able to get. I am one that looks like a giant light bulb.

After the party we headed down to the Sunshine theater where we all got a free pass to see the movie. Here are a few added photos:

Yeah it was. I have some more photos of the stuff we got for free. I'll send that out later tonight or tomorrow. Oh and to be clear the light bulb comment was regarding another picture. that is not me on the lower left of the ROB shot

i was there too. definitely right about the poorly planned event. i actually got a shot of rob at the bar. he snuck in there and no one even noticed him at first. he took a shot then had a beer. then made his way over to the picture corner i suppose. i went to go take some pics along with everyone else, and i happened to literally walk right into lizzy caplan as she was coming in. i grabbed a pic with her real quick...then i guess she dove into the sea of people just snapping pics of them with their cameras over head. and i also grabbed a shot of HUD too as i was leaving to go to the screening.

i posted them on a blog just to show everyone. its literally just those 3 pictures. i couldnt be bothered to dive into that sea of people. it was nuts!

  • Cool you had a great time... Reading about it earlier.....It sounded like a disaster waiting to happen.

Can't wait to see the rest of the photos.

If anyone is looking to snag some of the better music from the Cloverfield soundtrack, get albums from Coconut Records (Night Timing) and Ratatat (s/t).
