The first photo of the U.S.S. Enterprise from J.J. Abrams’s Star Trek has popped up over at Moviefone. It’s both ominous and expectedly epic in feel, which is promising, and obviously there will be more of this in the teaser attached to tomorrow’s Cloverfield. If you didn’t catch it, we recently posted a description of the teaser. Thoughts?

I personally have never gotten into Star Trek, I’m a Star Wars nerd myself…but, this is very intriguing. I love Abrams, though I don’t think he’s a GENIUS like most fan boys/girls do.
Though close word from my friend who’s done some previz on this film, this should pretty epic.

Not sure if this is a scale model, looks good anyway, but…but, two giant turbines?

kiko, those are the nacelles. Though I do admit they look like turbines instead of actual nacelles while in mid-construction…

Nacelles? Bussard collectors? Wow, this conversation is like a geek gangbang! I guess I’m the guy in the corner who “likes to watch.”

It looks harsh and beefy. Constructed on Earth and launched into space unlike previous Star Treks! Wonder if they’ll show the launch?
