Doomsday Movie Trailer and Photos

Doomsday Movie Trailer

You know how Juno starts off like a brat smacking gum right in your damn ear canal and an hour later you’re fiddling with the Raisinets trying not to cry in front of your girlfriend or boyfriend’s impressionable lil’ sibling? Well, the first trailer to Neil Marshall’s Doomsday had a similar, sudden change in trajectory, but it wasn’t like Juno’s pffffft-to-tissues, it was zzzz-to-being attacked by a bat out of hell. Let me add to that: if the hell bat had a mohawk, a nice ass and a friggin’ chainsaw.

My interest had hit a valley as soon as the trailer yelled what it was within the first two seconds with, “This is the end of the world!” But when that skull punch was followed by, “It was an epidemic unlike any other,” and expressed via a deadly virus spreading across a digital map of London in blood red, I could hear the words “Yeah, right!” echoing across the world. My Swatch watch hit “played out zombie time” and I decided to get in my Audi and drive to Hollywood on a fiery mission (from blog, ugh). I mean, they have a Victoria Beckham doppleganger fighting the undead? I like Bob Hoskins, but not that much. But then the skies opened or did they slam shut in time for a trashy punk rock concert?

A skull-adorned motorcycle jumped through glass, and like that, there was: sword fighting, a gratuitous ass-in-spandex shot, giant knights in Project Grizzly armor, old dune buggies, Mad Maxian road porn, a Bentley hopping through a bus from The Warriors, Malcolm McDowell randomly confirming all of this, and a token zombie (or leper)! I don’t necessarily approve of Joe Bob Briggs’ take on semi-journalism, but c’mon: chainsaw-fu. Has the director of The Descent, a horror movie that was good but not requisite viewing, remade 1992’s crazily ambitious Chad Lowe bomb Highway to Hell? Can we expect Ben Stiller cooking eggs on cement? Whoa.

    Mad Max rings the bell??

the combination of ideas for a doomsday movie does not make it a good one

Mmmmm, it sounds really scrummy. Im not sure about the sultanas with a curry, but hey if the pakastanis have been eating it for centuries why not give it a try. This is one of the best recipes for traditional curry Ive ever made, 10/10.

Yea Rob mad maxette, pity though as Bob Hoskins new that this would be on at xmas on Sky, I hope he received a good pay day for this guff,as I reminds me of the Two tribes video by F.G.T.H.................Well except this is the gaye version, couldn`t been worse if they remade it as a musical.

so, mad max with a girl?

Me & my partner are looking towards getting this on a torrent, since our street features quite heavily in it, all those years in the future rapid decimation of public order... plants overgrown... slum property`s in abundance, very strange that they never thought about filming this around eight years ago, as the street looked very shabby....burned out cars, the street-crime was rife back then, well like most urban city area`s, said they would give some cash to help the local gangs to reform in the local community center, well what a load of Shi& they talk, they even promised me some cash & free tickets to the premier, & some cash because my car was vandalized & nearly got stolen because they had boarded up the windows in our flat whilst filming. Ha Ha how I laugh about it now, But It was terrible then. so in retrospect they cut a lot of corners filming it, I hope it don`t show them up,so right to betamax for this one.

oh my my my it looks PHAT i cant wait.
  • "Doomsday" movie portays social realities that everyone has to reflect on. It tells us how selfishness andpower divide our world.
I also reminds us the significance of unity and intelligence. The striking part of the movie for me is the love of the mohter to her daughter. The mother preferred to die just to save her daughter
than to save her own like. Some soldiers who offered their selves to protect the world from the attact of virus are also great.

    Doomsday is great!
  • I like the movie so much becuase it shows how evil is our world today. What is very amazing is the confusing situation due to power and virus that destroy humanity and powerful world like if the first world contries like England is VIRUS. I interpreted the virus as greedy stuff that consume human flesh and soul.

    Fantastic movie!

Seen the film and enjoyed it. It's easy to watch lot's of violence and gore! Take it for what it is, an action packed friday night boy's and girl's.. film.

This looks like a great film, not a classic award winning film but what it is- a post apocalypse action film. The comparisons to Mad Max - Escape from New York only strengthen my resolve to see this film.
people bitching about it can fuck off!
Not all films have to be Citizen Kane or CasafuckinBlanca!!! or B/W arthouse shite!! Pompous arses! If don't like don't see- simple- and keep your petty comments to yourself !
This will be very popular i'm sure, because people like to escape for an hour or two and have fun.
I loved Dog Soldiers and The Descent - a british director who gave the genre a kick up the arse and showed the yanks how to do it!
    Sean Pertwee also rules!
And Rhona Mitra look really hot! wow. (Not a posh spice clone! lol- Maybe a Kate Beckinsale Underworld clone- but a can handle as many clones of her as ya can grow!)

I just saw this movie about an hour ago.I read that a lot of the comments made are upset about comparing it to Mad Max and Escape From NewYork. This movie is exactly that , with a little Resident Evil-Apocalyptes thrown in.The comparison is what peeked my interest in seeing this movie. The special effects well exceed those of its predecessor. If you liked Mad Max and Escape From NewYork your going to enjoy this one.

The preview to this movie pisses me off. It looks hella cheesey, and it irks me that all of the "bad guys" have tattoos and piercings. Lame.
  • MEe.
    mad max meets waterworld.
i'm having a hard time decideing whether this movie
    is gonna be kick ass
    or
    cheesy.
i stilll want to see it for myself tho.
  • falk0n
Can't wait to see it. Post apocalyptic movies have always been my favorite. And those those bitching about not being original theres only so many ways you can make a film about post apocalyptic ideas.
  • lance
I am contacting you concerning the broadcast network at which you are using to advertise your movie.Did you know that Fox broadcasting is involved in the criminal cencorship of Dr. Ron Paul and is under investication in a ricco statue act. Therefore I cannot see your movie as long as you continue to advertise with Fox Broadcasting.

wow, i just saw the trailer and i can't figure out which "didn't" need to be made more, this, or Shutter.

if people keep shelling out 10 buck every friday for shit like this, NOTHING original will ever be made again...

why bother, just keep rehashing and spoon feeling people the same jello, the viewing public isn't smart enough to require more for it's buying dollar :(
  • Arjy
Well ladies and gentlemen, i just came back from the first ever screening of this movie.

At the start i was really excited.... 5 min in i was dissapointed.... another 20 min i saw a rabbit blow up and i got excited again, that was shortly followed by a cow being run over.... then i waited ...........

I bagged this film out when asked to comment about it. Then after a lot of beers after the screening i came to the conclusion that this was a 5 beer movie at least.

It will be a cult movie, got to love it for that :P

DAMN! they flip one of those Landmasters! Holy S&*t!
  • FAN NO:1
I'm really looking forward to this film, i know someone who did extra work for the film, just hope to get to see him on the big screen :-)
  • MaK
Heeey, you can't compare Rhona Mitra to Victoria Beckham. She's a good actress, way hotter and "natural beauty" if you get what I'm saying ;) ...
She's the reason I used yo watch "Boston Legal" and I'm glad that she got a movie where she's the main character... Can't wait for it (^_^)

even though the trailer makes me wary, i will see this movie. I have always followed directors foremost and Neill Marshall has impressed me with both the low budget Dog Soldiers and The Descent. Simply based on those two flicks i will see this one. If this is a huge let down i'll probably keep some distance on his next flick, but i imagine this will be a fun movie if nothing else.
  • Vassago
Why is it that whenever anyone makes a post apocalyptic flick you people immediately scream "ESCAPE FROM..."? Is it even possible to make an apocalyptic film without you screaming SNAKE!!! or MAXXXX!!!. Cripes, I guess we should never make anymore post-apoc films because we were only allowed to make Mad Max and Escape from New York. And does anyone here not condemn a movie based on it's trailer?
  • fanboy d
i got to be an extra in this movie, one of the marauders, did a few greenscreen shots and the big finale with rhona mitra. i got a strong escape from new york vibe...
  • dbunker
    James... TMI man, TMI
  • Rick
This movie looks terrible. It's "28 Days/Weeks Later" meets "Mad Max" and "Waterworld" all in one. No thanks...
  • Robert
No shame left in the world, apparently. Everyone who worked on this movie, and anyone buys a ticket, should be sealed off inside the theater and quarantined so they can longer breed.
  • kiko
Hollywood screenwriters should go back to work! Looks boring as hell!
But the chic has some pepper!
  • Gp
    all hail the ass shot.

oi, The descent was a decent movie, a very good one. But damn...how dare they rip mad max.
  • T
    nahh, its
mad max + 28 weeks later + escape from new york + ass shot
  • Ben Franklin
Mad Max + Aliens = Doomsday.

Looks alright though; here's hoping it is!
  • Sam R
    Uhh...

Really. That's all I can say about this trailer.

Definitely not $10 worth of ticket fun, but might be a viewer when it hits the rental shelves. *shrug*

    Snake Plisken had a daughter?!?!?

I love how they use the 12-wheel "Landmaster" from Damnation Alley to get around the infected zone.

I've never been bleeding out of the ass, and asked for more. No, I will kindly hike my pants up and get reamed by something a little more sophisticated. I'll netlix this baby- but only out of my love for Who Framed Roger Rabbit, and my never-ending hopes of a sequel.
  • James
OMFG! This looks amazing. This looks like the kind of movie that bends you over and fucks you in the ass till you bleed and you like it!
  • Captain Awesome
Definitely going to download this one.
  • Alex, you suck at life :) see you tomorrow in Park City!
  • Everything you said reiterated all the reasons why I'm looking forward to thins movie. Bring on Mad Max mayhem and Escape from New York escapades! After Dark Knight hits us over the head with its oh so serious take on comic book foolery we'll all be applauding Marshall's vision. Plus Dog Soldiers ruled....
  • I like seeing a movie that seems to know what it is. It's an old school, post apocalyptic, action movie. Not a drama about the struggles of mankind, or a social commentary about fascism.

It looks like people get sliced, diced, and hit with a Bentley. That sounds fun to me. Maybe not $10 ticket fun, but matinée discount show fun.

A movie doesn't HAVE to be original to be entertaining. It it nice when it happens, but it is not a prerequisite for me.
  • the thin man
I have to disagree. The Descent is requisite viewing for horror fans.
  • Now I see why they scrapped the "Escape from New York" remake-- it's already been remade. Meh.
  • Hahhahahah, what an awesome intro Hunter! I will say, much better than Peter's boring "Here's the trailer" post. PLEASE write more commentary like this!

I'm actually looking forward to this. I think it'll be a fun and unique action movie, that is a refreshing change from the bland Hollywood crap. However, it's so all over the map, I'm really not sure what to expect...
