Cool Stuff: Dark Knight Promotional Items from The Joker

Most of us are aware of the viral baked cakes sent to the media to promote The Dark Knight, but back in December soft rocker John Mayer received something arguably cooler. Inside a package from a fictional company called Gotham Novelties, Inc., he discovered a limited edition Joker t-shirt and a worn playing card; its backside scribbled with maniacal red “HA”s. My favorite part might be the packaging itself, which bears the classy design of an upscale metro gift shop and hints that it was dropped in a Gotham gutter before it was dropped off by an unwashed Joker henchman.

So they're not nearly as cool as this one, but they're selling a shirt kinda like this one on batmanshop.com. The one they're selling is the same except it doesn't have the "worn" look like John Mayer's shirt. The other difference is that it says "Why so serious?" in the bottom corner next to the Joker's face.

Jon Bon Jovi wore one last night at his Perth show. It was a very wonderful touch. We lost a great son of Perth this week and I've been searching the internet to see how I can get one of these T Shirts too. Any help would be gratefully appreciated. They are selling black knight tshirts on ebay but not like the white one with the eyes and mouth... great T.

John Mayer is a huge Batman Begins fan. He's also interested in street wear; most notably he's sponsored by the NYC sneaker boutique Alife. This news was seen on a lot of street wears blogs like Hypebeast, and was an attempt by Warner Bros. to reach that demographic (i.e. hipsters).
