They Marched Into Sunlight is a brilliant Pulitzer Prize winning non-fiction book that has two split narratives. One is student protests and a riot at UWisconsin as kids try to stop Dow Chemical (the makers of napalm) from recruiting on campus, but the other narrative is about a a US Army battalion in a massive five hour battle, the descriptions of which are incredibly brutal, with a lot of psychological examinations of the affects of battle, etc. It's two narratives that each happen in just a day and I think the events are put next to eachother because they happened less than 24 hours apart.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that assuming the movie follows the book, while half of it is student protests, the other half is incredibly intense battle scenes.

That said, it's a very well written book that really examines the nuanced characters and their decisions. In the right hands, it should be an excellent movie. There's a lot of great material for a film.

Hey You (with the recently deleted comment),

Just wanted to say cheers. My editor didn't get it, so he deleted your comment and then deleted my joke. Now the joke is back. Enjoy.

What about Black Hawk Down? Though not a war film per say..it was still one of the best military films in a decade and for me ranks up there with the best of them.
The book is brilliant.
