New Line has released seven new photos from Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D. Yesterday they premiered the theatrical one-sheet, which seems as generic as these new production photos. I’m a sucker for 3D, so I’ll be there opening night (or at a press screening, if they decide to have one), and chances are I’ll probably like it. 3D is the new cool gimmick, and I’m a prime consumer. More photos after the jump, as always, click to enlarge.
Director: Eric Brevig
Starring: Brendan Fraser, Josh Hutcherson, Anita Briem
Official Plot Synopsis: An exciting adventure based on the classic Jules Verne novel “Journey to the Center of the Earth,” Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D stars Brendan Fraser (Crash, The Mummy) as a science professor whose untraditional hypotheses have made him the laughing stock of the academic community. But on an expedition in Iceland, he and his nephew stumble upon a major discovery that launches them on a thrilling journey deep beneath the Earth’s surface, where they travel through never-before-seen worlds and encounter a variety of unusual creatures. Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D is directed by Academy Award-winning visual effects veteran Eric Brevig (Total Recall, Pearl Harbor) from a screenplay by Michael Weiss and Jennifer Flackett & Mark Levin. The film is a co-venture between New Line Cinema and Walden Media. Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D is scheduled for a July 11, 2008 release.
Journey to the Center of the Earth 3D hits theaters on July 11th 2008.

Why do people feel the need to put Brendan Fraiser in movies? And in the role of an educated person at that??

Btw, way to rip off the temple of doom mine car scene.

Funny– Temple of Doom– that’s the first thing I thought, too!

Center of the Earth? Bullshit, they’re just wandering around caves. So the name should be “Journey Around a Bunch of Caves”.

Brendan Fraser pretty much peaked in “Blast from the Past” and its been downhill ever since apparently. He could have been the new superman if he worked out and didn’t look so darn goofy.

I’m not excited about this movie.
This goes under the list of “could have been good”
That includes: “Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtles”, and “Night at the Museum” to just name two.
They kill these movies because it’s trying to be something for everyone. It’s going to be a kiddy movie that kids aren’t going to want to see.
By the way, I think Brendan Fraser is pretty good, and “Blast from teh Past” was great. He just picks crappy movies to be in. I’m hoping “Inkheart” is good. THe trailer doesn’t look too bad.

I like Brendon Frasier, I enjoyed watching all of his films, I think this film will be good to watch. We all know this is fiction, it should be very entertaining. I can wait to watch this new film.

I’m excited to see the movie as are my children. We love

I like all your comments but I got’s to make 1 myself. I have seen neither of these 2 films, that were made of this movie, in the last 2 years. I think there is a mistake… A innocent one that is. I think Peter Fonda (The Blues) should of also went on the trip to the center in this movie also. A woman, a Child and a Professor and his Magisty Mr. Fonda… But thats ok. Peter is such an awsum person. This is a movie made for kids and Peter is an outstanding role model.. He should be in more movies. I am excited to see this movie when it comes out soon. I have the Originl. Have a good day all.

I saw this with my family over the labor day weekend and thought it was a nice family movie. Nice 3D effects. Some of the comments seem to be taking this movie too seriously. I believe the purpose was to be a fun movie!
