I didn't know those Smokin' Aces posters existed. The only promotion I ever saw it was the Rent rip-off version.

Way better selections than the ones at Firstshowing.net. I give you points alone for selecting the Captivity poster, as I think it was overlooked because of how bad the movie was.

Pretty good choices. Check out the French Zodiac poster, it's very different than the American one, and pretty cool.

Anyway, I skimmed through the IMPAwards website and here's what I came up with:

American movies: The Lookout, The Invisible, The Hitcher, Death Sentence (the one where Kevin Bacon is holding a bat), American Gangster, The Brave One, Contract Killer, Catch And Release, Stardust, the Japanese poster for Earth, and the French poster for Before The Devil Knows You're Dead. The Distubia poster is pretty good, but I don't know. I don't like the repeat image in his binoculars.

French movies: Persepolis, Roman De Gare, Le Serpent, Jacquou Le Croquant, Eden Log, Naissance Des Pieuvres, U.V., Hellphone. (Also check out 2006's Ne Le Dis A Personne)

Indian movies: Jhoom Barabar Jhoom

Be sure to check them out and get back to me about it.

PS: don't forget what I believe are the very best posters of the year: the stunning poster for Sydney White and the unbelievable poster for oscar-contender Blonde and Blonder. Send them to the Louvre!

I really like all of the posters you've listed - they're all good choices. I particularly love the 3:10 to Yuma and Black Snake Moan posters.

Yes, the movie 'Premonition' sucked out loud. So did the movie, 'Sunshine.' I would have walked out on that movie on an airplane.

The poster for '3:10 to Yuma' was great.

Where is the poster for the movie "300?"

That poster created a strong buzz for the movie long before it came out.

Cloverfield hits theaters in 2008, not 2007, so it wasn't eligible for this year's listing.

Dedication is mediocre at best. The Nines I don't like. The Savages is okay but it's trendy to like it. And Sunshine, despite how much I LOVED the movie, I do NOT like that poster. HIs face is terribly cropped into that random curved sun-like piece of it. THAT is not a good poster, THAT is terrible Photoshopping and I'm not excited to see that on your list. Otherwise, it's not a bad selection, but still not better than mine!

The original reigns supreme!

Some nice choices here. I especially like the Black Snake Moan collection and The Savages. I agree with you about your friends list though. There are some stinkers on there. Although, I do love the My Blueberry Nights one he chose.
