novasta or near that at the ending it sounds like rob or someone saqying ” now what? ” and when u playit back words it says ” It’s Still Alive” . when the thing fell from the skyit seems like the people would see the splash or something but it looks white so id say a sazatelite but it really would b the goverments fault ( japans ) and there better be a sequel because prequel i know main anser ! it came from the ocean mutaded fish ( explains red stuff on head and algea look color ) how did it happen ( who is this retarted wacth the movie it destroys everything !!!)

I agree with Bo - what a complete waste of time. I saw ‘Cloverfield’ in the cinema and the highlight, for me, was getting up to take a leak. Let’s face it, the acting was dire, the characters were contemptible (I found myself willing them all to die in the most horrible way possible), and the creatures were poorly executed. After waiting what seemed like an age to see this, I felt nothing but disappointment.

They are not trying to make this seem real… It is just an elaborate way of story telling… I have confirmed that there will be a manga released to be a prequel about the monster… And to explain where it came from… Alot of people are downing this movie because its not an original idea but honestly there is no such thing as original… Every movie you have seen from the matrix to everything else is based off of or aound the concept of something else. So if you want originality go watch Casablanca. A while back I went to the slusho website and it is quite bizzare… It leads you to different theories… The one I came up with is that slusho is made from whatever this creature is or consumes, and its pissed off. Strange thing is at the end of the actual movie if you watch the coney Island footage it shoes something crashing into the ocean to the right center of the screen in the distance, indidcating it probably came from space… Either way its a good fun movie if you are bored on a saturday night. It gives a new angle on the giant monster genre. Although… I have always been a godzilla fan… Oh and one more thing… At the very end of the credits there is an audible message… Couldn’t make it out because some idiot in the theatre said something at the exact same time… Post it if you figure it out.

mike, a satellite is seen falling into the ocean. Maybe its caused by the monster, which is truely an alien or something? Otherwise there isn’t really any point in adding it in there, is it?

And Abrams sucks, i agree with the film being a knockoff, but it is still a great film that isn’tt a sold-out franchise like Godzilla that was milked for every penny, or a lame dry show like lost.

and no, clover_field_monster_revealed, surely by now, a few weeks after the films release, you would have seen the film and go and hide in embarrassment; the monster isn’t a giant whale. True, it has lice things that drop of it, but it isn’t a whale or a squid. WATCH THE FILM INSTEAD OF GOSSIPING ABOUT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE. You see the monster upclose on many occasions, and see it being bombed and stuff.

Another thing somebody needs to tell them Hollywood directors that shaking the damn Camera isnt considered special effects. Its considered cheap class “C” movie tricks, and it sucks. We’re all invincible, getting killed while a giant monster ravages the city isn’t going to happen. I’ve got to video tape it instead! Sadly, this is pretty much reality. Just look at all the journalists who head to the Middle East. I really can’t say I feel bad when they get their shit ruined. They’re going against your fight or flight theory, and basically asking to get their heads cut off.

I did enjoy parts of the movie, up until the completely uninspired ending which left the entirely full theater yelling things like “That’s it?” and “Fucking bullshit!”, but my opinion, and this is an OPINION, is the following.

JJ Abrams is an asshat, whose so called “original and creative ideas” are basically stolen, rewired plot lines from other sources. Lost is simply Gilligan’s Island with a modern more serious twist, and Cloverfield is Godzilla meets The Blair Witch Project. He’s not original or clever with his “Oh yeahhhh, I know exactly what’s going through my head but no one else can! I’m going to throw random shit into the fray, yet never explain any of it! It’ll get the audience thinking and that constitutes good!”. It’s not hard to come up with logical explanations for some of the bullshit that plagues this movie and his television series, but unless the monster is an alien, which he’s basically come flat out and said isn’t the case, there’s no realistic way the monster can exist. You can’t have a creature which lives at the bottom of the ocean just pop up onto land and start running around. The change in pressure would cause it to explode on the way to the surface, and having no prior experience on land, the monster’s sheer size would break itself as it roamed around. Slusho’s ingredient being the cause for the increased mass of a normally much less massive creature doesn’t change this fact. If it was an alien, then the creature’s size and impervious nature to anything that was thrown at it could possibly make sense, but it’s been stated otherwise. He’s not creative, he’s not a visionary, end of story. If I had the will or desire, but more importantly the fat trustfund-baby cash, I could shit out crappy ideas and post them as “original” too. But I don’t, so I’ll just criticise others :).

at the end of the movie when beth and rob are on the ferris wheel and beth says, ” this was the best day ever” or whatever she says, supposedly in the background you can see sumthing fall from the sky but i wasnt really paying attention to the background. did anyone catch that? and whats a website that i can go to to watch the whole movie, like b4 it comes out on dvd, like a recorded vidio of the movie.
