This movie made no sence. the damn camera kept moving all aournd and I couldnt see anything. They never explained what the hell the monster was, and everyone died. it was a waste of my money.

i actually tried to suspend my disbelief in hopes that the monster would be believable enough to actually frighten me…but unfourtunatly . the only intensity i felt during the cloverfield project was as they ascended the the high rise and attempted to cross through a 39 floor window onto another building which was propped against it loved that part….as far as true beliveabilty try haveing the tanks and the infantry not show up in the first five hours and watch as the drunken yuppies call for their cabs and limo drivers that dont show up

Interesting that the Tagruato site is showing that there has been a sudden “altercation” at the Chuai drilling site, the one on the coast of North America. I knew as the movie got closer this site would have something happen at this “drilling site” leading up to 1-18.

Hi Everyone,
First entry so go easy on me. I’m personally excited and curious to see this movie. It’s definitely an interesting approach to shooting a monster flick, and I think the studio will make back their $25 million opening weekend (or very close to). One thing I’ve wondered about is the release date. I’ve always thought that studios release movies they don’t believe in at the beginning of the year before the onslaught of summer blockbusters. But it seems the studio is really behind this movie with all the marketing and viral sites, so I’m curious what made them decide to release it so early in the year? Maybe because films like Indy 4 and The Dark Knight would make it hard to compete with in the summer, but maybe there is no real significance, just a thought. Haha I would’ve liked it actually if the movie title had remained “1-18-08″, but I think it’ll be an entertaining film at the very least.

I know you weren’t trying to be mean and I def was not looking for an apology, nor would I cry about it… the four year old thing was a metaphor..which I know most of you know what that means from your discussion. And, big daddy, I know you’re not the only one, but all I’m saying is that an argument can be constructive, not anger-driven with cussing and name calling. But I by far disagree with you about making the word, “blog”, synonymous with argue. I would rather say it would more in tune with the word, “share.” Clearly we have different opinions about that, but again nice of you to doubt someone’s ambitions…just diggin yourself a hole, big daddy. I don’t need someone telling me I will or will not be successful. But with that, thanks for sharing…I don’t mind :)

And I look forward to people blogging about my movies; I just won’t be the one to argue back with anger. Clearly, some of you would react differently. I for one, think I would be taking the more mature route. If you look at hollywood ONLY as cut throat and “that’s show biz” than you will be missing out on a lot of genuine artists and the good side of the industry.

lisa, i wasnt trying to be mean or anything, BUT if you are going to take it that way, i seriously doubt you will make it in that business. you gotta grow some thicker skin. you shouldnt be looking for support of your dreams in a blog anyway. i think blog should be another word for argue, because thats what blogs are for. they say comments, but anytime you let someone post “comments” publicly, you are going to have arguements. if you dont like it, go somewhere else, dont cry about it. and definately dont cry about it if you are an aspiring producer, because you should be happy to see this, this is your future, people WILL blog about your movies some day, so get used to it

another thing, jerry, i forgot to say that even though connecting it to 9/11 is kinda getting old, and pissing off alot of people who think we as a country should move on, i actually take back what i said earlier to you, because like you pointed out, the director actually made the connection himself, and almost word for word stated the idea that its like godzilla and the bomb back in the day. Now that I think about it, it could be seen that way, and should be enjoyed, not criticized. Godzilla became very popular, so isnt it fair to say that cloverfield may gain the same type of popularity here?

Thanks for the quick answer, Allynd. As for anyone else who commented in response, I’m surprised at your juvenile way of talking to each other. This should be a discussion, not a fight.

And “it’s show business” is neither an intelligent or concrete answer to almost any question about the film industry. oh and I’m not 15, thank you very much. Actually even if i was five and said I was an apsiring producer, way to be supportive. Yeah in that case, I’m four. Go tell your little cousins they can’t be ballerinas or astronauts and see how that goes.

Gosh, guys cool it. It’s okay to have your own opinions and at the same time repect everyone else’s…

jerry, i use cuss words for emphasis, not to be negative… and stedman, seriously, we love the idea of this movie, we dont know if its gonna be good or not, so why argue like this? jerry is entitled to his opinion, although i still dont see why he wants to argue about it if he doesnt think hes gonna even like the movie. bottom line is, you guys are making a big deal out of nothing.. mike and obsessed, you guys are stupid. i say stupid because stupidity is what stops you from looking at official sources like the first 5 minutes of the movie that totally contradict that stupid ass spoiler

I’m not getting worked up at all, I just think it’s humorous that you are so wrong in all of your thoughts, and every time I try to counter one of your points you have no response to them.

I never said I thought it would be good, it could suck something awful, but I won’t know until I see it.
