As for Ferrel I like his brand of comedy… Sure Blades of Glory sucked. Kicking and Screaming sucked. but really Talledegga Nights was flippin’ funny man. But the best movie he’s ever done was also his cleanest…. ELF!!! I mean it’s gotta say something about movies… we don’t need a dirty movie that says “cock sucker” all the time. We need real funny comedy [eg. ferrel in an elf costume]

i used to think will ferrell was funnier, but i’ll still go see his movies, even just for that first time when all the jokes are new, because it’s worth it.

Talllladddegggga Nights had some of the best skewering of American class structure and American mindset in quite some time, and it never became fully condescending. I think that film is underrated/overly dismissed by New York critics - there’s tons and tons of well written subtext flying around like dongs in that flick. The only Ferrell flicks that were terrible were Blads of Glory and that soccer family flop. I agree that the high-concept pick-a-sport Ferrell flicks are exhausted, but I doubt he’ll do more after this.
