MTV has a first look at Michael Cera (SuperBad) and Kat Dennings (The 40-Year-Old Virgin) in the big screen adaptation of Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.
Directed by Peter Sollett (Raising Victor Vargas), and based on the novel by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan, “It all starts when Nick asks Norah to be his girlfriend for five minutes, to avoid his ex-girlfriend, who’s just walked in to his band’s show. And then, with one kiss, Nick and Norah are off on an adventure set against the backdrop of New York City-and smack in the middle of all the joy, anxiety, confusion, and excitement of a first date. This is the story about one date over one very long night, with two teenagers, both recovering from broken hearts, who are just trying to figure out who they want to be-and where the next great band is playing.”
The film adaptation is currently shooting on the streets of Manhattan, and MTV News caught up with the stars on the set for some quick interviews. Watch that clip below.
You can read the first chapter of the novel on Random House. Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist will hit theaters on October 3rd 2008.

I cannot wait for this movie! I absolutely love the book and they chose the leads better than I could have imagined. Did I mention that I can’t wait for this to come out?

Well…ive read Nick and Norahs Infinite playlist before and i for one do not want Micheal Cera to be Nick!!!!!! First and formost i saw nick as a cool rocker *cough* hott ass dude *cough* guy and Micheal Cera just doest look the part. Hes more of a sweet conservative guy not a rocker “hotty”. Yet i suppose the name of the game is performance so i guess i cant judge just yet. But!!!! if Micheal cant deliver in being my brought to life nick i’ll be very upset. Nick and Norah is like my favorite book!!! In anyways kodos to landing the part Micheal i guess your good enough to be nick if they casted you. Anyone want to argue with me?? If i am angered by your performance Micheal Cera and portrayel of Nick this wont be the last you’ll hear from me!!!! =3

Oh man, this is gonna be great. I’ve read the book and it’s one of my absolute favorites. I have to agree with the people who say that it’s kina of weird that Micheal Cera plays Nick. After all, I always saw Nick as kind of a hardcore rocker who’s really good but unfortunately is being held back by his crappy band. Nick doesn’t look like a rocker at all… but hey, we’ll see!
