I love the power pack I have issues 1-25 + #59 so I can’t wait for the movie.

I think Power Pack would be a great movie because i think adults and kids would love it. I also think their should be a movie called “Marvel” with all the best superheroes including power pack. And Franklin Richards Should be with PP.

I think a Power Pack movie would be a great idea, for the kids! They need a good superhero movie targeted at them, not crap like Sky High not even based on an existing franchise.

If they did this, I’d love to see Franklin Richards on the team and actually have Jessica Alba and Ioan Gruffudd cameo in it. Now that would be cool, and it would draw in a little of the older crowd, too.

As for Runaways, I’d much rather see that on the small screen. But it would only work if it were tied into the established Marvel Universe. But a weekly show based on that? It would be so awesome!

After the disasters that were the Daredevil movie, X3, the first Fantastic Four and Spider-Man 3 I’m all for a Power Pack movie. I have high expectations riding on future Marvel, seeing as it’s been lagging…greatly. I know that my little sister has been up in arms about wanting to see a super-hero movie–too bad that they’re all PG-13 (and for good reason).

Now, I like Runaways. However, I do not think Marvel will make a movie out of it. They’ve been gunning that nostalgia factor that turns 40 year old comic book geeks to the theater. With the exception of Venom (who never should have seen the light of day anyway), all the heroes/villains are from the 60s-80s. I know that people like my Dad grew up on Power Pack. Runaways is just too damn recent to draw in the nostalgia crowd.

My main concern is that they sugar-coat it too much. Aside from the aliens, Power Pack had to deal with real threats. One issue that stands out is when Alex (the eldest Power) finds out that one of his friends is doing drugs and tries to steer him off. Hell, a children’s book dealt with the most prominent threats in the 80s.

I think that this is a GREAT idea.

Though I loved Power Pack as a kid (my sister and I named our cat Katie after one of them) I’m also thinking that the world does not need a Power Pack movie.

Marvel needs to ditch the crappy flicks and b-list titles and move back into T.V with major properties like X-Men.

Big budgets, good writers, HBO style productions…yes sir.

I just hope they use “Power Pack” as the name of this flick.

It sounds like “Happy Meal: The Movie” or some lame ish like that.

All in all, I am in favor of “tween” superhero films like this, b/c I believe they will balance the corporated-minded scales in favor of more R-rated and Nolan-rated superhero films for adults. The reason I can’t stand the spiderman flicks is because they walk the bubblegum confection line a little too hard (they also age in terms of sfx terribly fast).

As far as Hollywood dying for material, didn’t the suits purchase “Cowboys and Aliens” before it was even published, based on the name/pitch alone? The sad thing is, I highly doubt anyone like Edgar Wright is going to choose to screen a “Hellboy” and “Incredible Hulk” double feature in 20 years. These are fun popcorn flicks, but most won’t outlive Wal-Mart.

This sounds like a response to WB’s Teen Titans planned movie, but TT is on such a slow path, that Power Pack could still beat them to release.

Yes. The runaways is a far better property than PP and has a much larger built in audience. It’s actually the best original idea to come out of marvel since the 70’s.
