Access Hollywood has the movie trailer for Forgetting Sarah Marshall, the new Judd Apatow-produced comedy. From Undeclared screenwriter Nicholas Stoller, comes the story of Peter Bretter (Jason Segel), who takes a Hawaii vacation in order to deal with recent break-up with his TV star girlfriend, Sarah Marshall (Kristen Bell). Little does he know Sarah’s traveling to the same resort as her ex… and she’s bringing along her new boyfriend. The film also features Apatow regulars Jonah Hill, Paul Rudd and Bill Hader.
Apatow is still riding high having produced a streak of popular and critically acclaimed comedies (40-Year-Old-Virgin, Knocked Up, Superbad, Walk Hard). I think everyone is waiting for him to produce a clunker, but it just isn’t happening. If Apatow’s name wasn’t attached to this film I don’t even think I would be interested. I was at the SuperBad premiere screening at Comic Con 2007 when Apatow and crew premiered the trailer for Walk Hard. Everyone I talked to thought it looked like crap. And up until I had seen the red band trailer two weeks ago, I had no faith in the movie what-so-ever. And while I’m not able to review the film until Friday, I will say that I was soooo wrong. So don’t judge the book by the cover on this one (or the movie by the trailer) because one thing is for sure, Judd needs to hire a better editor to cut these previews.
Watch the trailer below.
You can now also watch the trailer in High Definition on Yahoo! Movies. Forgetting Sarah Marshall hits theaters on May 30th, 2008.

Wow, the Caddyshack theme song. Doesn’t really fit here, however the trailer def has a “lite ’80s comedy” air to it.
The trailer was rewarded with a few grins, but no LOLs. If Apatow wasn’t attached and I saw this in a theater I’d think….
“Well, if my girlfriend wants to go see this, it actually looks tolerable. Was that the Caddyshack theme…weird.”

this trailer and the one for pineapple express make me think that 2008 won’t be the greatest year for Apatow. hopefully im wrong.

Nuff said.

Loved “Undeclared, and this looks to be very funny as well. I’d probably see it even if Apatow wasn’t attached, but that does make me even more excited.

Heck I laughed during the trailer, which is more than I did during the original Cox trailer. So that is promising. Kristen Bell is a definite plus. Also, when is Paul Rudd going to get a lead part in one of these films…instead of the side roles he is in? I think Paul Rudd is hilarious and needs his own venue.

i saw this at a screening a few months ago. its pretty good too. has some very funny moments….not quite as raunchy as apatows other projects but just as heart warming. the british boyfriend steals the show.

You will have to see this movie for one reason: Russell Brand, the BRitish rocker dude in the trailer. Search him on iTunes an subscribe to his BBC2 Radio show, for he is pretty much the funniest guy EVER.

I was lucky enough to see a screening of this movie in October. Let me just say that this movie is definitely on par with the rest of Apatow’s work, and that Russell Brand’s character was awesome.

Wow, I saw the screening of “FSM” and it was so FuNNy. Kristen Bell was funny with her unusual facial expressions. And there was an extra in the movie that blew me away. When Jason Segal’s character is entering the Luau and is presented with a lei by a hula girl. That extra has so Hot!! I wonder what her name is?? I wonder is she is a professional hula dancer?? Anyways . . . .

Will the real Sarah Marshall’s please stand up? The SM’s of the U.S.A. have started their own campaign stating “YOU SUCK JUDD APATOW”. Greenfield, Mass. Sarah Marshall thinks the film campaign is “bizarre” because she really looks fat in her jeans? Hmm not sure but you can check out what their saying here: http://bigpicture.fancast.com/2008/04/fancast_feature_sarah_marshall.html
Gotta love the gossip :) Seeing this film for sure!
