December 16th, 2007 at 8:17 pm
An excellent trailer for what I hope will be an excellent movie. And perhaps, finally, the first ‘real’ Joker to ever grace the silver screen. I have my fingers crossed that Nolan and Leadger have the guts to really bring that madman to life. So far, it looks incredible.
December 16th, 2007 at 8:17 pm
I love this trailer. he IS the joker! It’s even better than the youtube bootleg lol
December 16th, 2007 at 8:28 pm
This movie is so different than what I expected. This is the jokers movie. Lint and knives, you cant beat it.
December 16th, 2007 at 8:39 pm
nice, but…..
where is Aaron Eckhart ?
December 16th, 2007 at 8:52 pm
Incredible. Can’t wait for July 18th. Should be a great summer for movies with The Dark Knight leading the way!
December 16th, 2007 at 8:54 pm

December 16th, 2007 at 8:55 pm
Can I download this video? If I can, please tell me how.
December 16th, 2007 at 8:55 pm
Trailer was excellent…i sent links and told everyone and their mother…literally to watch tonight….Ledger Joker is the only Joker in my opinion…hes unbelievable….i just dont like his high voice in some points….in the opening of the trailer i think it is cut up dialogue…some of that i think is two face post accident….i couldnt get a feel of the plot which i awesome…unlike spiderman 3 where u can see the whole movie in ur head based off the marketing…the dark knight people are putting stuff out there that is great visually and they arent ruining the movie….they want u to see the joker so u get pulled in and they are saving Two Face and some cameos for the real suprise….WHY SO SERIOUS!!!!!!!!!!??? Ledgers the man…get off his back for brokeback…its a movie role not real life…
December 16th, 2007 at 9:00 pm
Why so serious? x-( excellent trailer!!!!
December 16th, 2007 at 9:12 pm
love it…though Batman’s motorcycle whatever is kind of ridiculous looking
December 16th, 2007 at 9:14 pm
So…much…joy………………..
December 16th, 2007 at 9:29 pm
best trailer so far besides cloverfield.. cant wait for either
December 16th, 2007 at 9:50 pm
download it here: http://atasteforthetheatrical.com/deathtrap/default.htm
i think all the joker dialogue is ledger’s not two faces. listen to his voice in the teaser and you’ll here it. it’s him.
i love the accent/inflection. perfect.
December 16th, 2007 at 10:03 pm
I have been waiting for this for the last 6 months. Better than imagined.
Did anyone notice the Starbucks in the shot after the joker says “its all part of the the plan” and hes shooting the machine gun.
Sweet, morning coffee anyone?
December 16th, 2007 at 10:39 pm
* speechless *
December 16th, 2007 at 10:41 pm

Between this trailer and the one that was shown at the beginning of I am Legend on IMAX, this movie looks sweet!! Heath Ledger looks truly scary as Joker. I can’t wait to see this next year.
If you haven’t seen the IMAX preview, it’s awesome. Doesn’t even come close to trying to give anything in the movie away.
December 16th, 2007 at 10:58 pm
Awesome. I’m completely excited and can’t wait for summer. Ledger is going to prove all the naysayers wrong.
December 16th, 2007 at 11:01 pm
My god I’m excited for this.
December 16th, 2007 at 11:04 pm
I guess Bruce Wayne has doubts about soldiering on as Batman…
December 16th, 2007 at 11:16 pm
Something awesome will be in store for Harvey Dent. That’s why we dont get to see him at all. Remember how we never saw much of Devastator in the TF trailer cos he had a massive sequence?
December 16th, 2007 at 11:34 pm
Oh, and my guess is that the new Batsuit is collapsible so Bruce Wayne can take it around conveniently - that’s why he can switch to Batman at the party scene.
December 16th, 2007 at 11:36 pm
Who is the Joker anyways?!?!?!
Seriously what Joker on the screen would make us happy?
Killing Joke, Arkham Asylum…what ever. Just give us a descent DARK KNIGHT story and we’ll be happy.
December 17th, 2007 at 1:24 am
They Will Hold Back 2face Like They Did Venom….But Aaron Eckhart wont disapoint….hes a great actor and i can really see him being menacing as two face…id like to see him and the joker fight each other in this movie or the next…that would be sick
December 17th, 2007 at 1:52 am
Ledger does a great Jack Nicholson impression in this. It’s like he’s been studying the last batch of movies.
December 17th, 2007 at 2:15 am
Harvey Dent does make an appearance… from 1:20 to 1:21. Hehe.
As a side-note, I made some killer desktop wallpapers comprised of stills from the trailer. Ohh, the things you can accomplish with a 1080p mpeg and freeze-frame. ;)
December 17th, 2007 at 2:25 am
Chris Nixon,
He sounds nothing like much less act like Jack’s fat, Caesar Romero impersonation. This is Ledger “being” the Joker. Nicholsen was being Nicholsen in a clown suit.
This is the Joker I have wanted for years. It’s a mix of Alex DeLarge, Mark Hamill’s version, and The Killing Joke, all rolled into one.
Go back and watch Burton’s Batman. Nothing like Nicholsen’s version.
December 17th, 2007 at 3:22 am
Man, I hate to hate just a little, but this trailer packed more punch as a bootleg.
It looks like they’re over doing the film with the catchlines like “Then you’re going to love me” = too similar to the Joker’s “Wait until they get a load of me.” from Batman 1989.
But moreover, they are showing the biggest explosion in the film before the new year has even started. It seems like they’re more concerned this go around with putting the action front and center. Not a bad thing, but a little worrisome b/c this moving isn’t packing that. Isn’t Batman jumping on the car’s roof taken from Begins? Also, the shot with the Tumbler in the white room should have been cut, makes it feel like more of the same.
I am one of those who would have preferred something more omnious and in the shadows. This kinda gives a lot away too early. Where’s the mystique?
December 17th, 2007 at 5:38 am
O’man, I like the part where Bruce says, “people are dying, what would you have me do?” and Alfred says ” Endure, because you can make the choices that no one else could face.” was so appropriate and Caine delivered, all my doughts are now cleared and I’m now going to say it: THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO ROCK!!!.
December 17th, 2007 at 6:19 am
Squirt!
December 17th, 2007 at 7:24 am
I think I will wait to hear some reviews on this movie, as the trailer doesn’t particularly inspire me to see it.
By the way, doesn’t the Joker look a bit like The Crow, except with green hair? I’m sure it isn’t intentional but that was my first thought.
December 17th, 2007 at 8:03 am
Me and my wife are big fans of first Batman movie, and we are dying to see this one, it looks awesome!
December 17th, 2007 at 8:19 am
Heath Ledger will be an excellent joker. He seems to be picking up the best of all worlds: The menace of Jack Nicholson (Batman), the laugh of Mark Hamill (The Animated Series) and oddly enough, a lot of Brandon Lee’s the performance in the Crow. I’m really looking forward to this.
December 17th, 2007 at 8:24 am
WOW!!! I saw this trailer when I went and saw “I Am Legend”, which by the way is now one of my favorite movies of all time, and I thought this movei looks really good and I’m really looking forward to it.
P.S. Man did they nail the joker or what?
December 17th, 2007 at 8:46 am
1 word WO
December 17th, 2007 at 9:33 am
Yeah….that is how a trailer should be. Not a huge fan of Batman movies in general, but liked Begins more than any other. This looks like it will blow it out of the water. July is wayyy too far away.
December 17th, 2007 at 10:43 am
GREAT!! My doubt about the Ledger Joker has been reduced to an extreme minimum! He looks SOOO much better in live action than he does in the still pictures!! Eff the stupid ass-frackin’ gayback mountain flick,Heath’s an actor with BALLZ now cuz he IS playin’ the Joker!!
Love the shots of Batman on the rooftop, remniscent of the Batman:TAS opening credits ending, and the shot of BW in the chair holding the cowl,PURE Batman comic book goodness right there!
My only complaint about this film (as all the other films) is that the batsuit isn’t black and gray on the areas it is in the comix, and that the suit should be more flexible so it’s easier for Batman to move around and do his karate chops in quickley. That’s basically it. Everything else looks great!!
I can’t wait to see the new batcave!!
THIS WILL BE AWESOME!! I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THIS FILM!!
December 17th, 2007 at 11:30 am
what more can I say but AWSOME tailer , cant wait for the movie to come out.
December 17th, 2007 at 12:21 pm
I read some spoilers and saw some pictures on another page about the funeral persession….it seems that the Joker kills the Police Commish…that scene where The Joker goes…WHY SO SERIOUS!!!? he his grabbing Commish Loeb by the face…The Funeral had the 21 gun salute, i saw Loebs picture next to the casket….and it makes sense that the Joker was taking out the Gotham Elite…by killing the Commish he can get all the Gotham A Listers together to kill at the same time….cue the Joker dressed as a cop during the salute and points his gun at the Mayor when the salute goes off….its gonna be a unbelievable scene…sorry if i spoiled it for anyone…but we all wanted that dude Loeb to die so Gordon could get in there…so no suprise there….
December 17th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
Ive Always Know That Heath Ledger Was A Great Actor…His Agent Was A Moron and Got Him To Do All These Terrible Movies…Knights Tale, 10 Things, Casanova, Grimm Bros, ect ect…BrokeBack Was Actually Good and Got Him A Oscar Nod…So We Know Dude Can Act…Now Hes On The Fast Track With The Best Role Of His Career and The Best Most Sought After Role Of 2008…He Literally Is The Joker…He Cuts Smiles Into His Victims Faces…” Im Gonna Put A Smile On That FACE!!”…Great Line…That Fight Between Him and Batman In The Middle Of The Street Will Be Legendary…
December 17th, 2007 at 12:41 pm
One Last Thing…I Cant Wait To See Ledger At The End Of The Movie…Bale Talked About Batmans Fight Style Being Amped Up In This Movie, Including Sticking Your Finger In Someones Mouth And Ripping Their Cheek Open…I.E The Joker From The First Picture On His Left Side….I Gaurentee Batman Does The Left Side and The Joker Carves In The Right Side To Be A Smile…You Can Tell Because The Detail Of The Right Side…Hes Gonna Look Deranged In The End…Ultimate Joker…Two Face I Heard Has CGI Work On His Face…He Will Be Awesome Too…Maroni Scars Him In The Comics and Eric Roberts Plays Maroni In The Dark Knight…Sounds Like A Set Up…And I Hope The Joker Lives…In The Books The Joker Always Gets Away…Ledger Will Be Back For The 3rd Movie…
December 17th, 2007 at 3:02 pm
Wow, holy fucking smoke! I am totally sure this will be THE movie 2008!
December 17th, 2007 at 3:15 pm
All the comments so far, as favorable as they are, are really underestimating one thing, Christopher Nolan. Have you seen Memento or the Prestige? Come on, he’s going to be the real star. Batman Begins was just a warm up, prelude to this moment. I have a feeling we haven’t seen anything yet.
I agree though, I was a little skeptical of Heath Ledger, but I’ve seen enough to be convinced.
December 17th, 2007 at 4:00 pm
This is how comic movies should be done. There are a handful of great translations Nolan deserves major credit for doing it as one of the best.
December 18th, 2007 at 12:00 am
This films gonna win best picture and maybe another oscar nod for heath ledger.maybe one for best supporting actor or maybe one for best actor.this movie is gonna rock.I just hope its not like spiderman 3 where there wasn’t enough time for all the villains.I also like that joker looks like the joker from the 40’s where he just puts on makeup and likes to kill people for fun
December 18th, 2007 at 1:02 am
yeah, so i’m pretty much going to be watching that every single day until the movie comes out…
December 18th, 2007 at 3:23 am
i believe in heath ledger!
December 18th, 2007 at 7:48 am
welp shouldnt have watched this at school now i got to go change my pants
December 18th, 2007 at 4:35 pm
I let my mom see the trailer and as soon as see saw The Joker
AAAHHHH
Got To See It!!!
December 18th, 2007 at 4:46 pm
1 word for the entire movie: AMAZING
3 words for the new joker: FUCKING BAD ASS
December 19th, 2007 at 6:06 pm
I have faith in Nolan and Bale and believe thatthis movie MUST be fantastic, but… I don’t see the amazingness yet. I have my doubts about this Joker. IS the “scar” makeup an improvement over the Conrad Veidt-inspired traditional visage? I mean, it’s cool, but is it BETTER? From the stills I was let down, but I thought that in action, in motion, it’s be a different story. Now that we see a bit more of him in action, I’m still not that impressed… I hoped he would be crazier than crazy. I want a raving maniac… who is chillingly frightening because he can turn lucid and diabolical on a dime. The Joker is meant to be Batman’s match. His opposite number. Where Batman is grim, Joker is off the walls. Leave the brooding to The Bat, I say. Bale has done a great job of balancing the BAtman’s many shades… I just hope Ledger can achieve the balance of crazed clown and deviously homicidal mass-murderer that adds up to Joker. So, I guess I’m a bit hesitant. I WANT to be proven wrong though. Please Nolan, Bale and especially Ledger: make me eat my words… in IMAX.
December 19th, 2007 at 6:22 pm
It looks like to me that heath ledger was the right choice.
December 20th, 2007 at 2:05 am
Joker looks great but reminds me A LOT of how crazy Lee played the Crow.
December 20th, 2007 at 11:30 am
I want to see twoface. NOW! >:O
December 20th, 2007 at 11:35 am
Oh, and Heath Ledger looks sickass with the make up and the scars and shit.
December 20th, 2007 at 11:37 am

December 21st, 2007 at 12:11 pm
hell yea….
December 21st, 2007 at 4:35 pm
Perfect bat-darkness looks extremely likely thanks to the jettisoning of the Cruise beard and picking a new actress who actually can act! Now if we can only get DVD’s of Batman: Dead End by Sandy Corolla, then my Bat-DVD-library will be complete!

December 21st, 2007 at 10:16 pm
the movie is greatly based on the long halloween and Dark Victory Graphic novels which are REALLLLLLLLY good and heath ledger is an amazing joker, i remember how the joker couldnt even put up a fight against batman in the original and now hes like unstopable, but WB are dragging us away from Two face by putting out all this Joker material.
December 21st, 2007 at 11:13 pm
THIS BATMAN MOVIE ACCTULLY LOOKS EXCITING.FOR INSTANCE THE JOKER LOOKS LIKE LEATHERFACE/THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE. DONT LET ME DOWN I THINK THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO KICK A$$.BY THE WAY THIS MOVIE IS PROBABLY GOING TO TAKE BATMAN TO THE NEXT LEVEL.GOOD LUCK! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!
December 24th, 2007 at 12:06 am
PERFECT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DIDN’T HAVE ANYTHING TO SAY, IT’S AWESOME, REALLY REALLY AWESOME. THE JOKER ITSELF SOMEHOW CHANGED 180 DEGREES, MAYBE HEATH LEDGER COULD BE THE BEST JOKER, EVEN BETTER THE JACK NICHOLSON. HOPE THE MOVIE BETTER FROM THE FIRST ONE.
December 28th, 2007 at 12:51 am
The Dark Knight rocks!
January 11th, 2008 at 10:56 am
i only have one word for this clip”WOW”. I must confess, one thing i like about christopher nolan is the realism he brings into the batman movies, makes it feel like you are watching some real action movie and not comic book flick,i only wish they can get him to do more DC charaters, like steel, deathlok,dr fate etc
January 13th, 2008 at 4:57 am
wow.
ledger looks the dogs b******s
can’t wait
January 14th, 2008 at 4:21 pm
I AM SOOOOO FLIPPING EXCITED FOR THIS MOVIE!!!!!!! I have been a huge Batman fan ever since I was little since I had older brothers. I love the trailer, when they first show Heath Ledger in the Joker make up and he gives the camera that stare, it almost gave me the shivers. I just hope it stays true to the original Batman comics a little more than the first one did. Don’t get me wrong, Christopher Nolan is an awesome director, but I thought it could have been a little better.
January 22nd, 2008 at 4:35 pm
…just yesterday I saw the trailer for the first time, unaware of the rest of the cast and said to myself…mmm, that actor doin’ the Joker part nailed it just right, he has the right amount of creep, the right voice and will probably overshadow C. Bales performance. Today, I find out it was Heath Ledger. Sad ending, RIP.
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:27 pm
The movie looks like it is going to be great! I like the way Heath L. portrays ” the joker”. If I were Jack N., I would be proud of the way he has played the character. My heart goes out to heath’s family, he will be missed. I give this trailer five star’s, two thumbs up, and I cant wait to see the movie!
January 22nd, 2008 at 7:57 pm
So sad that Heath has died. I’ve been looking forward to this movie for so long. Now it’s going to have that sort of sad under tone that “The Crow” had. Heath was such a good actor.
January 22nd, 2008 at 8:36 pm
SOOO FREAKIN AWESOME!!!!!! CANT WAIT FOR IT TO COME OUT!!!!BATMAN RULES!!!!
January 22nd, 2008 at 11:58 pm
I’m so excited for this movie. It looks so good. Heath did a great job so far as whats shown in the trailer as the Joker. I’m glad it finished filming before Heath’s death, but I’m tremendously sad that he is gone. He was such a great actor. May you rest in piece, Heath.
January 23rd, 2008 at 10:42 am
wow
January 23rd, 2008 at 10:44 am
OMG - Heath is dead???? I can’t believe it. Rest in Peace…. so sad :-(
January 23rd, 2008 at 12:37 pm
I loved Batman begins and this looks like it will be even better. I just read yesterday, about 6 hrs before Heath died, that he was going to be the joker and was telling my husband about it. Hours later while making dinner, I look up to see his face on the news. I just can’t believe it. I don’t even know how many times I’ve seen Brokeback Mountain, its a great movie and he was fantastic in it. Its just so sad.
January 23rd, 2008 at 9:43 pm
One word AWESOME, I can’t wait for this movie to come out!!!
R.I.P. Heath Ledger God bless his family and friends
January 24th, 2008 at 9:26 am
I fell in love with Heath Ledger in the movie The Patriot. He stood out in that movie. He really had star quality. Now this batman movie is coming out and he’s gone. I don’t think I will be able to bring myself to go and see this movie, it’s very dark and will only make his passing even worse. RIP Heath….you will be missed!
January 25th, 2008 at 9:06 pm
bale as batman perfeckt choice
January 27th, 2008 at 6:19 am
Trailer looks fab. Christian Bale has nailed Batman, & by the looks of it, Heath Ledger has made the Joker his own. My son & I watched the trailer at least 10 times, & we are now waiting for July. Terrible news about Mr Ledger. My thoughts go out to his nearest & dearest.
February 4th, 2008 at 11:30 am
heath ledger was the best actor of his generation, and anyone that even compares his performance to the joke that jack did in the first batman, should wake up……..heath will be missed for what he did,and would have done,Ill always compared others roles, and wonder how much better heath would have been.
no one will ever equal this view he had of the joker, its dark, moody, eery, part crow esque.
take care mate, thanks for soooo many great movies!~
ajp
February 5th, 2008 at 12:01 pm
It’s going to be awesome. We lost one of the best.
February 5th, 2008 at 8:30 pm
I have been watching this clip since it was released,Now it has become very earie to watch. Have always been a huge Leadger fan and I feel we have been robbed by some of the media for his untimly death. Now we will never know, ?? and neither will Matilda. Fly high , Shine bright Heath. Know one will ever better your version of the joker.
February 6th, 2008 at 5:41 pm
… Just watched it… its absol. spine chillingly brilliant. Cannot wait for the movie. Christian Bale truly is Batman… I think I must of watched Batman Returns 100 times and still can’t get enough. And as for our dearly departed Heath Ledger…who plays the most frightening villian of all… The Joker. Never has there been a role more sinister. Ooh, Ive just given myself goosies. But, I think Im just going to watch it again.
February 6th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
… I would also like to add… that since we lost Heath Ledger, in such a tragic way, I have made sure to watch every single one of his films. This would have been one of his greatest… He will be a Celloid Hero forever…. Because, Celluloid Hereo’s never really die. Our thoughts go out to his Family and Friends. RIP Mr. Legder as you guide those who you love from above.
February 8th, 2008 at 4:35 am
I am truly sad, that a talented actor Heath Ledger will not be with us to recieve the accolades that this movie will get. I like the fact that this joker is a man who relishes chaos. anarchy and bloody mayhem, unlike Jack Nicholson Joker, this one enjoys getting close to his victims using knives. If it is possible to one up the great Mr. Nicholson, Heath seems to tap into that scary subconious that the character needs to brought to life. As a actor I am sure Jack Nicholson joker was an inspiration, but his joker was more from Jacks larger than life persona, Heaths is more based on the comic character, being a comic fan I love Heaths work, and belive his Joker would surpassed any infamy Jacks Joker had. He shines in this film. His untimely passing is a lost to us all.
February 14th, 2008 at 9:49 am
Excellent. Thank God Chris Nolan has been on board for these last two films; his vision is dark, dense and downright divine. Puts Joel Schumacher and even Tim Burton to shame.
Casting Maggie Gylanthall as opposed to Mrs. Tom Cruise is a wise choice; it is thrilling to see Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Michael Caine, etc. back in full.
Love the new Bat Cycle…
But of course the most significant part of DARK KNIGHT will be the role of the Joker played by the recently deceased Heath Ledger. Judging from the trailer it looks as if Ledger brought his amazing talent to a difficult, iconic role, and came up with a truly oily, sinister psychopathic villan for the ages.
With this movie ~ and the new Indy Jones flick ~ I may spending much of the summer of 2008 indoors…at my local moviehouse!
March 9th, 2008 at 2:36 pm
Heath Ledger is chilling as the Joker. Brilliant.
I do hope that he receives an academy award for this supporting role as the Joker. I still feel he deserved the best actor award for Brokeback Mountain.
March 12th, 2008 at 8:13 pm
it looks so much creepier now that heath ledger died
March 20th, 2008 at 11:26 am
I think its gonna blow the roof off the theaters. I’m also looking for to Iron man the movie.
April 28th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
Nice, damn cool..
