Clash of the TitansThe list of the directors rumored to be involved with the remake of Clash of the Titans has included Sam Raimi (Spider-Man) and Robert Rodriguez (Sin City). The screenplay was penned by screenwriting legend Lawrence Kasdan, you know, the guy who wrote Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark. And finally tonight, Warner Bros has announced the big name director attached to the project:

Steve Norrington.

Wait, Who?!??

You know, the guy who directed the horrible 2003 adaptation of Alan Moore’s The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Yeah, I had no idea either. He also directed the original comic book adaptation of Blade, which was good (but not great).

The good news is that Norrington has a huge background in creature efects, which will serve a movie filled with with mythical creatures well. The bad news is, well, Steve Norrington is directing Clash of the Titans.

The original Desmond Davis film was an adaptation of the myth of Perseus which told his quest to battle both Medusa and the Kraken monster in order to save the Princess Andromeda. The movie is famous for its use of Ray Harryhausen’s stop motion animated creatures.

Norrington is under-rated. His LXG might have been blasphemy to the graphic novel original but it was still rollicking fun, despite the bad press, reviews and box office. Last I heard, Sean Connery hounded him out of Hollywood after clashes on the LXG set. Glad to see he’s back.

Who shall be our modern day Harry Hamlin? What tv bo-hunk dares step into those sandals? Josh Holloway? McDreamy? Tom Welling?

Or who shall be the sage Laurence Olivier, lending gravitas and dignity to the whole cheesy romp? What Oscar winning actor has the sense of humor and the need for money? Jack Nicholson? Gene Hackman? Peter O’Toole? Tom Hanks? Michael Cain?

Pull down pants, bend over and prepare for penetration.

Glad Norrington’s directing again. He’d had such a bad experience on LXG that it was originally said he wouldn’t direct again.

Ray Harryhausen is right now asking Jesus to come back to earth…
    He’s just afraid!

hi every one! …congratulations!!! …just last night i was thinking about Norrington ,and it was a big regret ffor me that he is not directing anymore(after sean connery bothered him a lot on LXG) and he left hollywood (and AKIRA remake project)….his BLADE came before MATRIX and if you notice carefully you will know that wachowski Bros borrowed alot from his unique style….when i saw Blade for the first time i was thinking: the post modern version of james cameron has arrived!!!…LXG wasn’t great but I think he will show his powers in this one!!!…thanx for readig…

I just hope they don’t mess up a childhood fave. It will be the excuse I’ve been waiting for to go mental with the office stapler.
