Other "indie" films don't seem to have this close connection to the particular aura of the main character, and that's what makes them seem stereotypical. Once, which I think is one of the best films of the year, obviously has a great soundtrack, mainly because of the Frames, but it's a musical movie; tough to compare, although it would be up there. I just couldn't take that stereotypical indie/folky/singer songwriter music. It's in EVERY indie movie that deals with a suburbia or family relations. Old news. Boring. Juno would have been sweet with a classical, piano driven soundtrack or Billy Joel or something. I really like the There Will Be Blood music though.
