I must admit that I'm a bit nervous. First of all, too many subtitles. I foresee a shorter version in the works. Also, what made the first three movies work was that even though they were futuristic sci-fi films, all the action took place in the present day. It is easier for people to relate. If the entire movie takes place in the future, it will be harder for people to connect. BACK TO THE FUTURE PART II had that problem. Even the original STAR WARS film featured all humans around the conference table. By EPISODE II, it was almost all aliens and androids. The more unfamiliar you make it, the less it resembles the original.

That said, I was also concerned about Cameron not being involved with RISE OF THE MACHINES, and TERMINATOR 3 still rocked!

I just hope it is better than the TV show. Even with a different timeline, some things (like the whole human head on a Terminator body scenario) were just a little too silly to swallow.

Hey, DohDoh: Screw you.

Once again, let me remind you that Terminator 3 WAS ALSO AN R, and it was the biggest frickin budget ever approved, so to assume a rating has to do with budget is idiocy.

Also idiocy: to assume how good a movie is based on its rating. There've been amazing R-Rated films, just as there've been awful ones. And same goes, for PG13, and G, etc..

You want cursing and blood? Go watch that piece of shit The Departed once more. You want a good movie? Watch the original, curse-free, low-on-blood Infernal Affairs.

And no, my 13-year-old self is not rolling its eyes, because my 20-year-old self is. That's right. I'm 20 and I work in film. Also, I never had to worry about ratings my entire life, because where I'm from, nearly every movie is rated G. That's right, I watched Terminator 1 & 2 when I was, what, 8 maybe... Terminator, Die Hard, Matrix, all rated G. Even the f-ing Departed was a G with a measly "some scenes may offend certain viewers" warning. Hell, sometimes we even get your DVD "unrated" versions in the theater and rate them G (Wes Craven's Cursed, for ex).

So, you can take your words and shove them back up your ass.

When we are talking about the post-apocalypse, it needs to be rated R, just like the first two and best Terminator films. I am sorry, but all of the great action franchises should not be toned down for mall rats. We saw them when were teenagers and kids today are far more sly and parents far more lenient about R-rated fare.

Die Hard 4 was a comic book that might stand alone, but when taken with the rest of the franchise, it's a glaring abortion. The title alone conveys an R-rated film and the catch phrase is R-rated (if a joke).

Motherfu(bomb).

When you rate an action film PG-13 (based on past films), you get 1) cliche hackers, 2) a no-name terminator with tits, and 3) cheesy stunts that would make a monster truck/WWF crowd blush.

What happened in the future of this franchise world? Does nobody die a gruesome death and suddenly people don't bleed/curse as much? It's Terminator. It's an R-rated franchise. Deal with it, MR. PG-13 lobbyist. Your 13-year-old self is rolling its eyes.

People pay too much f-ing attention to ratings. Die Hard 4 was PG-13 and it was arguably the best action movies of the year. Anyway Terminator 3's budget was the highest ever approved at the time and is still pretty impressive by today's standards (over 200 million dollars) and that was an R.

Anyway this is cool news. I'm not as confident in McG as Peter is, but as long as his Schwarzenegger cameo doesn't involve the Governator shaking his ass on camera to Mystikal's "Shake Ya Ass", it should be fine. Anyway, I'm eagerly awaiting this film and I really hope Arnold appears in it. Are Mario Kassar and Andrew Vajna still producing though? It doesn't list them on the IMDB...probably an error.

PS: notice how Peter is capable of spelling Schwarzenegger right but is flummoxed by the complicated John Connor

With that kind of budget, it's going to be PG-13.

Umm... Question. How come no one has even mentioned if Michael Beihn popping up in the new trilogy?

Wiki quote: "After the camps Reese served in the 132nd under Perry from 2021 to 2027 before transferring as a sergeant to Tech-Com under John Connor himself."

So, when does this story start?
