Michel Gondry’s Bjork “Declare Independence” Music Video

Before Michel Gondry made Eternal Sunshine, Science of Sleep, and Be Kind Rewind, he made his name directing music videos. Actually, he still directs music videos, and his latest video is his seventh collaboration with Björk.

Gondry’s videos for Bjork have always been very experimental, and “Declare Independence” is no different. You can watch that new video after the jump. I’ve also decided to include Gondry’s six other Bjork music videos (via YouTube) for your viewing pleasure.

Over at RowThree they have a behind the scenes look at this video and interview with michel Gondry. Pretty snappy.

Happy to see the final product turned out so well.

I’ve been a BIG Björk fan for a few years now, and I was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed the new video. Gondry’s videos are, arguably, the best among the Björk collection, and I think this is a great addition. It reminds me a bit of Army of Me, a bit of Dancer in the Dark. It actually makes me enjoy the song even more. I do hope Björk has another video or two in the works before Volta closes. I heard they were doing Wanderlust, but haven’t heard anything about that in a while. Bummer…
